This place is PHENOMENAL!!! I had been visiting my parents in Utah from Missouri for a number of years, while driving through Logan we were all hungry and I checked google and saw a ton of great reviews for this place. My parents and I loved the food and after each visit to my parents we would make a point to stop here when I visited.
In 2020, my mother passed. In 2022, my father passed. I left Utah and spent a year in the Midwest again to realize how much I missed the west and moved to Idaho. I drove from Illinois to Utah to visit my employer and on the way up to Idaho, I made a point to stop by this restaurant. I brought in a photo (I love) of my parents with me and sat on the table. I was kinda choking up with tears, that I had to go out to my vehicle to grab my sunglasses. My server, Angel brought out the chips and salsa and I asked him for an extra bowl for the chips. He was kinda confused at first, but after he brought it out he noticed I placed a small amount of chips in salsa next to the photo of my parents. I think from that point he realized what was going on. I ordered the same delicious dish I have ordered from this restaurant for years and like normal I cleaned the plate. I asked Angel for my check and he said, "this was on the house.".
I had the cashier break a $20 for me and I left Angel a $7 tip. He...

It's easy at El Toro to get pulled into menu options like the combination platters (uno, dos, or tres, where you get to select one, two, or three items such as a taco, enchilada, tamale, etc...) or burritors, but I heavily recommend going "off trail" to some of the more special items the kitchen has on the menu.
Pollo a la plancha is a favorite of mine where you get a juicy piece of chicken well marinated in wine served alongside tortillas, rice, and beans.
El gordy y la flaca is also a great option to check out, and a final personal favorite -- be warned it is a lot of food -- is enchiladas tri color. Mimicking the colors of the Mexican flag, you'll get an enchilada in red sauce, verde sauce, and a white cream sauce.
I particularly enjoy El Toro's little bar area. It's pretty tiny, but is a great spot to meet friends for a drink and a small bite, especially if there is a sporting event you want to watch on, they have two nice TV's for you to watch.
Of course, it goes without saying that the entire staff is friendly and will make you feel like family when...
Read moreTrying to find an authentic mexican restaurant that is delicious and can meet my expectations is extremely difficult in Utah. With that said I will tell you why I give this establishment (and its Brigham City Location) the best Mexican Restaurant in Utah. I judge each restaurant based on the salsa they give prior to ordering. Many times I get a tomato paste that is bland elsewhere. The salsa here I could sit and munch on all day long. Lets get into the menu. Chile Colorado is hard to find and even harder to prepair properly. The sauce is correct in recipe and the beef is so tender it melts before you get a chance to chew. This is true to the Chile Verde, tring to find a place that prepairs is correctly is very hard. The pork melts before you get to chew and the sauce is deliciously correct. You can order so many more that is delicious and flavorful you will probably cry in happiness. The price to portion is very good! It wont hurt your wallet. What about customer service, staff is very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. They know how to keep a repeat customer. I would without a doubt tell you to visit and eat here. I recommend this place...
