Read moreI have lived in New York and San Francisco for about 4 years now. Indian food for me is like Americanized version in most of the places (its like you go to Cabo and you think it is Mexican culture experience). When I moved to this part of the town I went to eat their food. This is the only place I have been to that cooks authentic Indian and Pakistani Dishes fresh. The first dish I had there was biryani and to be honest it reminded me the biryani of my home town. The taste took me right back to my home town, which is thousands of miles away. It was the best biryani I had in the last 4 years. I eat here very often and their speciality is their Nihari, you have to get their Nihari. I have tried shami kebab, Bihari kebab and seekh kebab. In desert I have tried halwa (semolina), which took me right back to my city street halwa. The freshness and presentation of food sounds like some one from your family who really cares about you is serving you the meal, like you visited your family after a long time. The owner is extremely respectful and friendly at the same time. He many times gave me suggestions, offered me samples of his favorite food for free. He made me tried pickles which he self made. Everything is made by his family who honestly care about people who are going to be eating there food. Chefs are not just other workers who come to do their job and leave. They care about how people like their food. I have seen people from all ethnicity there. All of them love the owner and that's why keep coming back. He cares about everyone and makes the experience of dining even better. This place is very clean, food is fresh, parking is easily available and ambience is like your home. Do visit them once and I am sure who will keep...
Read moreIt was my first time eating from here and when I first order from a place I like to get a bunch of stuff to get a feel for what I like.
Palak paneer - 3/5 It was blander than others I've tasted. Usually my favorite dish but not from here.
Chicken tikka masala - 5/5 It's delicious. Different than straight up Indian places but no less tasty.
Garlic naan - 5/5 Probably the best naan I've ever tasted. It's fluffy on the inside, yet slightly crispy on the outside. Definitely get some!
Chai tea - 2/5 It wasn't sweet at all like I was expecting. I thought it was a sweetened version, but it's just a normal tea. If you like bland teas then go for it, but I didn't like it.
Lamb shank - Can't rate I got this specifically for my wife. She loves lamb shank and I don't. I had a bit and it was bland to me. Had a sauce that was extremely hot she said.
All in all I liked half of what I wanted to eat. Definitely disappointed in the chai and palak panner, but I'm not going to rate a restaurant's overall rating down because I didn't like their interpretation. The food is reasonably priced and it looks and tastes like they use good ingredients. Plus it's family owned by the looks of it and they put a lot of work into the place. I highly recommend and will be back to get more chicken tikka masala and garlic...
