When I found out a bbq chicken had opened up close to where I live, I was thrilled! Before going, I placed an order online because I remember hearing that this place takes about 30 minutes to prepare the chicken and thank goodness I had done that. When we arrived, we were greeted with a nonchalant staff. She let us know that our order was going to take an additional ten minutes which isn’t too bad.
While scouting for a place to sit, we noticed that the restaurant was relatively dead, there was one other group of people other than us. The tables were flimsy as well and one of the tables was broken.
So, what did we order? Honey garlic chicken: the sauce was delicious! Perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the honey with the savory garlic, the flavor dances on your tongue Golden original: we ordered an original half chicken and it wasn’t bad, i personally am more of a fan of the sauces. The chicken is juicy and perfectly fried but without any sauces or seasoning, it was on the blander side Waffle fries: about halfway full in the container, there’s a light seasoning on it and it tasted pretty good Rose tteokbokki: the creaminess of the tteobokki sauce worked so nicely with the rice cakes and fish cakes. I was delighted that there were so many ingredients within the dish.
Overall, I really enjoyed the food here, the only thing I would recommend was to order 30 minutes prior to arriving so you aren’t stuck waiting a while before your...
Read moreAs someone that is a huge fan of Korean fried chicken, and as someone that has gone to other BBQ chicken locations, I was really glad that a location closer to home opened up. Unfortunately, this location does not live up to the food quality and service standards I’ve experienced at other locations.
I walked in and was greeted by the register girl who was dressed in literal pajamas. I attempted to order half boneless and half bone in, which they have on their menu, but the worker said it’s not possible to get either bone in or boneless because it will be mixed and matched. Okay. That’s a bit weird as other locations were able to filter the bone in/boneless pieces, but whatever.
Ordered my food and sat down and noticed there isn’t any real utensils as everything about this location is designed for takeout.
It took about 30 mins to get my food. The chicken was OKAY, but was too heavily breaded and there was more breading and bone than actual meat. Felt a bit peeved that I spent a lot to eat mostly breading and bone.
One of the orders had a wet sauce over the chicken and at other locations they completely drench the chicken. I’ll let you look at the picture and tell me if that’s enough sauce.
This place is stingy with their sauce and their chicken is no where near the quality of other BBQ chicken restaurants. I won’t...
Read moreSo this restaurant originally popped up as a sponsored ad on my IG, I clicked on it, and it looked really good, but it hadn’t opened yet. They had mentioned in a post they were having a taste test contest. So I followed the rules to enter, and to my surprise I won!! I was so freaking excited, I had to go during my lunch break, because that was the only free time I had, and they were so understanding about it, when I got there, there were other winners, eating inside the restaurant, it was decorated so beautifully. I had explained ahead of time in a private message that I had to take my order to go because I had to get back to work and they were very nice about it, I waited a few minutes for my order, and they packaged it up very well and securely, took it back to work and ate it in my break room. It was all So good!! And there was plenty to share between a couple more of my coworkers, they loved it as well. The chicken was crunchy and flavorful, and the ddeok was perfectly chewy with just the right amount of spice, as well as the kimchi fried rice, I loved all of it and I can’t wait to go back. And to top it off all of the workers there were very helpful when I had questions about some of the menu items, all very professional and polite....
