China Star Lombard — Restaurant in Lombard

I don't often leave a review for a business unless our experience is really bad or really good. Well, China Star is very good ! We've made 4 family sized purchases these last few months and have been pleasantly surprised. Here's what we've noticed. The dinner shrimp are much larger and more numerous than the competition, the beef is tender and not chewy, and the chicken has a nice texture and is not rubbery like other places... The portions are generous and they even include cardboard squares in your to-go bags to keep your bagged dinners stable. A nice detail for sure. China Star is MUCH better than that other place in Villa Park also...

The Kung Bo Chicken tasted Off. Weird unusual taste and the chicken was dry. The fried rice was fine, but the egg roll was basically mostly cabbage. But very little cabbage. Mostly just egg roll wrapper. Very disappointed. Now that's my last 3 visits. Unfortunately I'm going to have to find another Chinese restaurant who DOESN'T use MSG. Very hard to find. They used to be Good. I'm wondering if it was because the Man who does most of the cooking wasn't there and the lady cooked it? Because she seemed to be the only one there. But I know what Kung bo chicken should taste like and this tasted way Off ....🤢 We ended up...

I eat at all Chinese restaurants and was not happy at all with this one. Went in for lunch and was offered the regular priced items, when they had a lunch price special for the exact thing I wanted. First thing the cashier should always offer is the lunch special prices during lunch. Definitely felt ripped off. Plus the food wasn't good. I'll bring it home to make it better.
