Dairy Queen Store — Restaurant in Lombard

At the end of the day, it's just a Dairy Queen, but all the little extras make this a great stop.

It's at a great location. It's a historic building. The employees are all super nice, even when there's a crowd. Every treat they make is top notch (still just Dairy Queen, but about as good as you could expect to get). They also heavily support local kids sports teams, which is great as a village resident.

Really the only con is that there can be a long line sometimes. However, the long line is more indicative of the quality of the Dairy Queen, rather than slow service. There's also not a ton of parking, but it's in downtown Lombard, so that's part of the territory.

Summer is here and so is ice cream season. This Dairy Queen is a fixture of Lombard. It is popular among all Lombardians. We walk to the place, grab a Blizzard and either sit on the bench there, walk to Lilac Park, or just walk back home, while enjoying our ice cream. Service is great and fast. I have gone to this place for the past 8 years that I have lived in the area, and have never had bad service. Kids that work there are attentive and quick. Whenever I order a Royal Blizzard from here it is always melted or watery in consistency. When I complain to the staff about it, they just tell me it's supposed to be that way. But at literally every other Dairy Queen location I vist, the Royal Blizzards I get are proper cold solid ice cream.
