We have driven past this place a few times and we always said we wanted to try it. We finally had the chance and it was a disappointment. First, we ordered the mussels for an appetizer, they were OK but very chewy and the sauce wasn't great, but it is mussels so we understand it's a crapshoot so we were OK with that. We ordered lamb chops and steak and frites, the lamb chops and the steak were over cooked and with an overwhelming taste of being burnt and also over cooked. We ordered medium rare and both were more towards the medium well rather than the medium rare, which we could be OK with except for the fact that the burnt tasted was overwhelming. We told the server and the server was kind enough to bring 2 extra lamb chops, however, the lamb chops were then way on the rare side and still had an overwhelming burnt taste. How can a rare meat still taste burnt?!?!? Needless to say, we paid our check and left but we had to stop somewhere else for dessert to get the burnt taste out of our palates. Also, the skirt steak was like at most 1/3 of an inch thick, so it was way over cooked. It had almost no grill marks but yet it I could not taste anything other than the burnt. I am not sure how they cook the meat or if the grill is dirty but the burnt taste, once you take a bite, it is so hard to get rid off it. We really wanted to try this restaurant, we did now and we won't be coming back,...
Read moreFood was wonderful! Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because my group felt the portion sizes and prices were a bit spiritic. The cauliflower app was delicious but we could count about 10 pieces and see the bottom of the plate so it looked a bit empty and for $11 we kind of expected more of a full plate. We had 6 people in our group so it was one of those situations where no one wanted to grab more then a piece. The steak fries, awesome! Again, a bit small. My husband and I also got the tacos and though they were very good, they were definitely 2 bite tacos. A lot of tortilla, not a lot of anything inside, but what was there was delish. Everyone else at our table got burgers or sandwiches and they were nice full plates and portions. They all said they loved them! Drinks were good, again some of them we though were priced a little high. $12.5 for a glass of wine I've had at a wine bar elsewhere for $10, meh. I'd request maybe a few more cocktail suggestions that are a little less harsh, little more easy drinking. My 2 girlfriends and I each tried something different and they were all drinks that were a 1 and done. Everyone in our group has worked in restaurant at some point in there life so we absolutely understand new places always have a little tweaking once they get some good feedback! All in all, great food, great concept,...
Read moreI really enjoy the vibe, food is delish! I love the uniqueness of some of their entrées, I have yet to be disappointed. My son swears the fried chicken sandwich is the best he has ever had. I would say that two areas that can be worked on would be the service, to me, this is a great local place and I would want my servers to treat the guests with a little more of that neighborhood feeling, make sure there is a knowledge of the menu; the second area is the beverages, i want to taste the flavors and the booze, I find a few times I have been there the flavor was lacking in the mixed beverages, also don’t serve any celebrity Tequila, that is always a turn off(Kendall Jenner knows nothing about tequila). The gentleman that tends to the tables (I refuse to use the term “bussers”) works his *ss off and is very attentive to the whole restaurant, saw him wiping a wall down, love to know cleanliness matters!!! Overall, I really enjoy this establishment, it would get five stars if the servers were spot on(gotta greet your guests sooner), I am a returning guest and have brought others with me. Definitely, a welcomed neighborhood establishment!!! The most important person in a restaurant is the guest, and a return guest is...
