Such an amazingly cute cocktail bar in downtown Lombard. The drinks are complex, expertly crafted, and taste wonderful. This level of cocktail bar is unmatched in the suburbs and I simultaneously want everyone to know about it and want it to be a well kept secret. The interior is dark and classy with a laid back atmosphere. The waiters have always been very friendly and attentive, willing to offer great recommendations whenever needed. If you are looking for a recommendation, look no further than their standard 4 cocktails. Lilac Haze and Contestant 23 are particularly good imo. We went here on a bit of a lark and now keep finding excuses to go back. A super cool, vintage-decorated cocktail lounge with a well-curated menu of both staple and seasonal drinks. There's not a 20 page menu to sift through and not understand, and yet somehow the drinks on offer suit all palettes. While I have finally branched out and tried other drinks, the Violet Haze is an easy favorite.

Servers are prompt and courteous, but not overbearing and pushy, which is really appreciated in a place like this where you want to sit back and enjoy the ambiance. We visited The Lilac League on a Saturday night and had an absolute great time. We told our husbands we would only keep them there for one drink just to check it out but we ended up staying for three hours! We sat at the bar (which I usually don't care for but actually enjoyed) Emily and Matt are amazing bartenders! They worked their tails off mixing and shaking drinks all night and were still very attentive to us. The atmosphere is very chill, the music is good and not loud which allows you to have conversation with your group. An added bonus is that you can get food from Babcocks next door.
