So this was my second time ever eating at cheddars in London Ky. The lady who seated us was really nice and polite. Our party of 5 was seated and the waiter came and started taking our order. When asked my wife what she was having being she paused he stated “So that’s chicken strips for you?” Mind you my wife had not even said anything yet, she then spoke up and made her order and the rest of us finished. I thought seemed in a bit of a hurry and pushy but thought nothing else of it and we sat and talked while waiting on our food. Mind you we waited a really long time. I’d done finished a large salads and we still was waiting. No biggy right it’s time with the family we really was in no rush to get home as we rarely go out to a seat in restaurant. After we got food wife’s and daughters cups was empty I had to flag him down as walking by to get them refills. Then here is the part that chapped my rear. LH the waiter when I told him to add a 5.00 tip to our meal ticket got frustrated and said “You know the tip is 20 percent of your meal right?” I said no but I know I have 5 kids at home on a one income and wife takes care of the family. So my thinking was 5.00 is honestly what I felt he earned being he let our drinks sit empty for so long also. He said It again “So I am going to put a 20 percent tip on the bill.” I stated “No! 5.00!” Honestly at this point he was lucky I said a penny. My family said they was going to car as they was embarrassed of how he was acting which in return also started upsetting me. I told him after family went outside that I understand how waiters make money but a person should never be pushed into a tip! He did apologize but let me tell u how he said it and brushed it off and walked away it sure didn’t seem sensire. I did ask the lady who seated us to speak to a manager and she said she would be sure it was straighten up and talk with him so who knows. I came in happy with my family as I was away working for a few days. We was having a good time but this one feller made the ride home miserable. I try to remind my self to not let one person take from the happiness of a day with family. LH if you read this just know everyone’s life and finances are not the...
Read moreNot our best visit to our favorite restaurant... Infact... regretfully the worst. We arrived at 1 pm in the afternoon and had driven over from Somerset, Ky to have an early Anniversary dinner. When we arrived the line was out the door. While we were waiting I went and used the mens room (Had to go from the trip over) When I walked in the odor was foul from stale urine. I walked up to a urinal and somebody had thrown hand towels into it and they were soaked. My thought was somebody's gotta pick that mess out of there and secondly, I quietly cursed the person who had previously done it and used the urinal beside it. Still I noticed how dirty and uncleansed everything was. I went to wash and dry my hands, there was no soap and NO paper towels in any of the dispensers. The restroom was nasty! When I returned to the line and it came our turn to be seated. Then, it was announced to everyone in line, there was going to be a 30 to 45 minute wait for a table. (There were maybe 2 couples in the bar area that I noticed in in my walk to/from the restroom). Needless to say I was not happy or even comfortable about any of it. Even the waitresses that we saw looked like they were wearing their uniforms from the prior week. In retrospect, I'm glad the wait became so long because we were able to see the uncleanliness and I/we definitely wouldn't want to eat there! No telling what the food would have been served like. With Covid and anything B4 Covid, the place was a prime breeding ground. I don't think we'll ever return to that Cheddar's'. The health department needed to pay them a visit that day! Also, I did quietly tell the person setting up the tables about the restrooms as we...
Read moreMy experience here was honestly terrible. The only warm greeting I received was from the host, who genuinely seemed happy and comfortable with my presence.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the waiter assigned to me—he was awful. Our interaction felt incredibly rushed, and I genuinely felt like a burden. For instance, whenever he approached my booth to ask if I needed anything, he barely gave me a second to respond. I’d mention one item, and instead of asking if that completed my order, he would just assume I was done and walk off. Because of this, we ended up finishing our appetizer before even placing our main course order.
What made it even worse was noticing how much effort he put into serving other guests. He took the time to introduce himself, offer drink options, and patiently wait as they placed their orders. Meanwhile, I had to place part of my order for my son through the tablet. At one point, I accidentally hit the “call server” button, which I assume is the only reason he came over and asked if I was ready to order—despite the fact that I had already placed half my order through the kiosk.
I originally wanted to order more croissants and dessert, but by that point, I couldn’t stand being there any longer. Despite everything, I still left a tip...only $5 though because I would have felt bad not tipping at all, though truthfully, that’s exactly what he deserved....$0.
I will never return to this particular cheddars again. And I hope the reason for this treatment wasn’t what I suspect, although im sure it is.. lol I’ll just keep that thought to myself. 🔺🔱🔺⚫️
Edit : Looking at my reciept my server...
