Unfortunately there aren't any Penn Station's in our State of Wisconsin. So, it is a treat when we are passing thru on vacation in London KY to enjoy a great tasting sub. We have visited many locations several times, this one included. Unfortunately today's experience is becoming the norm at this particular Penn Station (and the fast food industry). There were several staff members present, it is difficult to address a situation when you can't identify the person you are talking to because they refuse to wear name tags. I was not greeted at the door, the gentleman seemed to be irritated with my special requests such as "extra crispy fries", which I requested TWICE. When checking out the Lady behind the counter barely uttered "you want a receipt?" Still without a single courteous exchange of words, or a smile, 2 or 3 minutes later, she held up a bag saying "Kim. I walked out feeling like I was robbed of $35 for 2 subs, a small fry, lemonade and gallon of tea.
To top off this unpleasant visit, the small fry I had requested "extra crispy", was barely warm and soggy. Had I not been in a hurry to head back to wisconsin, I would have personally returned them and request the name of the Manager. Instead I called the store and had to extract the name of a GM, and when a good time to call would be. After I curteously said "Thank You", there was a click on the line.
The "younger generation" that typically work in the fast food industry, haven't a clue on the concept of "Customer service" or the fact they should feel honored to have Customers. There is a general trend towards poor social interaction in society. The same Younger Generation that currently make shopping or a trip out for fast food unpleasant with their poor attitude, aren't going to care until THEY are the...
Read moreI love this eatery! The food always tastes good and is freshly cooked. They cook it right there in front of you. My bf and I try to eat relatively healthy. We never eat store bought white bread, we try to stay away from canned and heavily fried foods, and overly processed foods. Penn Station food seems to be pretty healthy for a "fast food" place. 1) Their white subway bread is the tastiest sub bread I've ever had, a thousand times more flavorful than any of Subway's bread, and it's not super dry like Subway's bread. I like Subway, but all of their bread options are horrible. 2) Penn Station has the BEST French fries I've ever had ANYWHERE! You can see and taste that they're made from real potatoes, and whatever oil they cook it in, doesn't taste old nor stale. I always get a veggie sandwich with artichoke added. Yum! My bf gets a few different options like chicken or ham sandwiches, 6" or a medium. We go there after work and whenever we're out running errands and too busy or too tired to cook later. I get a regular medium size and have enough left over for...
Read moreHad a terrible experience at this location. Purchased 2 sandwiches, and a half gallon of lemonade. The lemonade was basically water, there was no sugar in it, just straight up sour, and watery. The person who checked me out, I believe his name is “Jose” was the rudest person I have ever interacted with in my life. When I politely asked for my lemonade, he made a rude face at me and said nothing in front of a line of other customers. When I tried to return the lemonade for a refund, the guy handed me 4 packets of sugar as if that would make up for the terrible experience he had just put me through, still saying nothing. I know he had the ability to speak because of an interaction I observed with his manager. His manager on the other hand was very kind, but that didn’t make up for the INCREDIBLY embarrassing experience I had due to this employee. All in all, if this guy is still employed by the end of today, I would suggest you stay away from Penn Station London location to avoid any...
