Let me start by saying PLEASE go try this place yourself. I love when local folks try to start something new and I hope nothing but the best for this place. No more chain restaurants!
To begin, I am curious why they chose mexican fare as it is now the third mexican food restaurant within 20 steps of each other while two other long standing mexican places in the neighborhood have closed their doors in the last few years. It will be an uphill battle to differentiate themself however, they do have a couple golf simulation bays that may bring some folks in if they start to tie that together with a theme. It's also located in the backside of the building with zero street or foot traffic and with the movie theater now closed there is almost no reason to go back there unless you are actually planning to eat there or getting a tattoo next door.
Next, it certainly is in need of something to make it more inviting (it was their first week so they may have plans) but the entrance doors are tinted significantly which makes it confusing that is the actual entrance. They have a significantly sized patio which is nice but it unfortunately just bakes in the sun all day so it doesn't draw you in. Maybe on those days at least open all the umbrellas to give it some life and in the long run maybe add some type of sun coverage and maybe misters to make it fully usable on hot days
No real decor yet, that I could tell. I think it may be golf themed but nothing really grabs you. Maybe lay down turf as flooring? putting green flags on the tables?
Ok, now for the food. We went for lunch on their first weekend of being open so I think they are still working out some details and maybe even staffing. We just picked a table (which is fine) but then there was a fairly long wait to get water and menus. No chips and salsa which seems standard at many places. We did eventually get service by the bartender/waiter/host/owner so he had a lot going on. Ordered some margaritas and they were very good and VERY big. the large is significant so plan accordingly but they seemed to have the right amount of alcohol in them so they aren't skimping to save a buck which was nice.
Food was solid. Good mexican food. I would dare say more traditional than say Rio next door. Also, decent prices you can feed a family and not break the bank.
To sum up. Good food, Good value, disconnected theme (at the moment), but has amazing potential. It will take word of mouth to keep this thing going but if they liven up the outside and can get the right following it could take off. I worry a little about the bar feel, kinda hidden, in a dead area, next to a tattoo shop maybe bringing in folks who drive away families but only time will...
Read moreCaddy Shack Cantina is a full-on experience. We went twice in four days. It’s relatively new, taking over a spot that sadly closed for unfortunate reasons—but let’s just say, this place is making the most of its second swing.
We have sampled nearly all the tacos—chicken & corn, veggie, Korean beef, and chile relleno—and every single one was outstanding. Site note: the green chili, both mild and hot, is exceptional.
The chile relleno plate is quite possibly the best in Colorado—dare I say, maybe even the country. Bold, I know. But it’s that good.
Then came the PB&J Burger. I took a risk. The kind of risk that usually ends with regret and mucho napkins. But not here. This thing is next-level. It’s strange, yes. It’s different, yes. But it’s also ridiculously delicious. Nothing overpowers—the flavors lines up like the perfect swing. Ty Webb would say “Be the ball.” I say forget that—be the burger. Juicy. Savory. Loved by all. As of May 2025, Mondays mean half-priced burgers (aka divine intervention).
While I didn’t spot a gopher, I did see a sign leading me to Gopher Bites: crispy chile relleno–style appetizers that hit the fairway every time.
The churros (especially the filled ones) are incredible as well. Get them!
The margarita is made with Bravo Tequila and dangerously smooth. I had a sample and actually started considering drinking tequila more often.
The only thing I didn’t like was leaving—but I’m working through it in therapy.
Moses highly recommends Caddy Shack Cantina. I’m pretty sure I heard a tiny voice whisper, “Let my people eat… and drink… and maybe shoot some rounds at the Golf...
Read moreI wish that I could give this place a zero star... This was perhaps the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant for a multitude of reasons but I'll start with the waitress, not only can Laura not take an order in less than 10 minutes. She completely neglected to bring us any napkins or silverware, and we waited at least 10 minutes after our food was brought because she was practically giving a lap dance to another customer and didn't realize until one of us had to get up to ASK. We also had to ask for our check two times about 20 minutes apart because she forgot and went to the bathroom and then wiped the same table about 15 different times. Once we finally received the check, we asked for the two enchiladas and the burrito to be removed as they were completely untouched due to how truly disgusting it looked and how hard it was to even attempt to cut.. Yes the burrito and enchiladas were too hard to cut into with a knife... She came back with a ticket with an enchilada on the ticket AFTER clarifying that we wanted both off as again both were untouched. Truly a nightmare. The manager is even worse as he completely avoided eye contact with our table the entire time, and continued to ignore us even after the issues we were having were brought to his attention. He walked around that restaurant multiple times and not once even looked our way. I have never at any restaurant asked for an item to be taken off the bill but everything about this place food included was absolute garbage... Is kitchen Nightmares...
