I have been shopping at this Costco for over a year now. I loved this location, at first. But in the last couple of months itâs gone WAY down hill. The staff is disrespectful/rude, their behavior/attitude is ridiculous, they listen to respond rather than listening to understand, and are consistently accusatory towards customers. A few trips ago I went in to Costco an hour before closing. 20 min before closing, multiple employees started yelling, like they were drill sergeantâs, at customers to head to the front to leave. I understand the staff wanting to leave work on time, we all do. But thereâs multiple ways to respectfully ensure customers leave in a timely fashion. On top of the yelling, I had an employee following me as I was making my way to the front. While doing this he was questioning me âwhy are you in this aisle? Well what do you need? Youâre not suppose to be here?â. All while I was still is an aisle that was considered âopenâ. My next time in the store, my boyfriend and I accidentally ran in to the corner of a clothes table with our cart. The pile of clothes fell and we picked them up trying to place them back nicely where they belong. I get it sucks to keep those tables nice so we attempted to correct our mistake. We made eye contact with an employee near by and she gave us the nastiest look. Since she did that and found it okay, we stopped what weâre doing and carried on. Why would we continue to help after how disrespectful she was?? Then we went to check out and the lady who was helping us pull things out of our cart was literally throwing our items on to the register and looked pissed off. Meanwhile, there was a register behind us where an employee was being very disrespectful to another customer. Even the person at that register was uncomfortable with her coworker. The customer had a picture of the cost of the item she was purchasing. However this employee was questioning her like it was an interrogation, asking her questions then ignoring her, was giving her attitude as if she was stealing, called an employee through her radio, still didnât believe it, and pulled the customer out of line to triple check on a computer near by. I understand Costco has been really trying to save money by checking to make sure every item was purchased. If I was a business owner, I would do the same. But my goodness, itâs not TSA. And accusing your customers of stealing when they are paying a large amount of money to shop at your business, is insane to me. I am a strong believer that the customer is NOT always right, there are some Karenâs out in the world with huge egos. But what happened to customer service? If youâre having a bad day, keep it to yourself when your working instead of taking it out on your customers. Im flabbergasted by the way Costco is allowing their employees to behave. I used to love going to costco and enjoy how awesome the employees were. But now Iâm questioning even having a...
Read moreIâve been a member for 20 years and have lived in many different places in the states. This is the worst Costco Iâve ever been to. So that I have to leave a review for a Costco for the first time. Itâs the closest Costco to me, but I have to avoid as much as possible.
Iâve given them the benefit of the doubt too many times. Finally I conclude itâs not coincidence. Something must be wrong with the management.
Some examples: Itâs my first time noticing price I paid for an item wasnât what was shown by the price tag in store. I found it out when I was back at home. I bought a lot of the same products because I love it and it was selling with a great discount. Otherwise I wouldnât notice it wasnât as advertised. Anyway, I called and Michael (IIRC) confirmed I was paying for the wrong price after I gave him the item number. He told me to go to the warehouse to get refund and mention his name if necessary. So far so good. But at the store, there was this lady (Yoyo or Jojo IIRC) gave me a headache. She didnât believe my story and said Michael was on vacation. Repeatedly saying itâs impossible. Treated me as I was lying. Refused to talk to a manager at first saying sheâs the acting manager being in charge. After 20 mins, she finally called her manager over. The manager was able to track down the correct price and proved I was correct. Jojo went ahead to process the refund without saying anything. No apologies or explanation. I asked after she handed me the receipt why she wasnât able to find what the manager could in the system. She said the manager had more access. Thatâs it! Still no apologies or anything for how I was treated earlier.
Just recently went in to store to return something. A lady who appeared to be somewhat inexperienced claimed I had to show receipt for stuff bought online and that she would not able to search online order in the system. Obviously thatâs not true because Iâve done that many times at various Costco before. I didnât challenge her. Just spent few mins looking up my online order receipt and be done with it.
And Iâm done with this Costco. I am not giving it 1 star just because...
Read moreCostco is usually AMAZING. But today, we had a really bad experience with an employee who was tasked with scanning for the self checkout. She was initially preoccupied having a personal conversation with another employee, didn't greet us or anything. (I was directed to her register, or I would've gone elsewhere due to her apparent distraction.) She began scanning our items but pushed the cart into me, resulting in my leg touching the area where you would normally place your items. She scoffed and then proceeded to lecture me on not leaning on the scale, angrily canceled the transaction and began over again after barking "card" and then stating "you can't do that." (I had 9 items total, so it wasn't a huge transaction or anything, and I'm not 100% certain why one would have to cancel the transaction and begin again.) I swiped my card, put in my PIN, and then the light began flashing and the screen prompted something along the lines of "Please wait for assistance." I looked at her and asked what I needed to do, she threw up her hands and said "I don't help you with anything. I'm just here to scan." So I pushed a few buttons, figured it out on my own, finally got a receipt to print and walked away without another word from her. I was so disappointed by how rude she was, as this has honestly never been my experience at Costco before. I was shopping with my toddler who didn't care to socialize with her, so not sure if that put her off, but that level of "customer service" is completely unacceptable. Every other employee there has always been so kind and friendly, usually even outgoingly accommodating with the toddler. This trip felt yuck because of one...
