Hail to the King, Baby. Hail to the King! Our family has been regular customers at the Dairy King for 40+ years. There are soft ice cream options (cones and sundaes) as well as hard ice cream. Both are delicious. During the season, they are usually open on afternoons and evenings. In the September/October shoulder season, they tend to be open more for late afternoons and evenings until 9pm. The Dairy King is popular, especially with families with kids and they will draw a crowd in the evening. Dairy King is a must-visit spot on LBI! The ice cream portions are super generous, the service is fast, and the prices are surprisingly affordable for a beach town. Whether you're after soft serve, a sundae, or a milkshake, everything is consistently delicious. Even when it's busy, the staff keep the line moving with a smile. It's the kind of place you find yourself going back to every night of your trip. Great for families, late-night treats, or just a quick stop after the beach. Terrible service. It shows they're open til 11pm in season. I arrived at 10:40 and the little girl with red hair shut the open sign off and told us they were closed and have been closed for 20 minutes, even though there are people eating they're freshly served ice cream at the picnic tables outside. This is the second time this week they closed early. I can't imagine how many sales this business looses being so close to fantasy island AND it being peak season with these employees who are more concerned about getting out of work early instead for...
