A Haven for Bread Enthusiasts and Culinary Adventurers
I've been eager to explore this quaint spot for some time now, and serendipitously, while in dire need of bread and passing by, we decided to pop in for a quick visit. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality from the staff. Their welcoming demeanor instantly made us feel at home.
One of the first things that caught our attention was the impressive array of breads and baked goods on display. The selection was diverse, ranging from traditional loaves to more exotic varieties, each exuding an enticing aroma that hinted at their artisanal craftsmanship. It was evident that a great deal of care and skill went into the creation of these baked delights.
But what truly set this place apart was its inclusion of various unique sundries, adding an extra layer of excitement to our visit. From locally sourced honey and preserves to imported cheeses and specialty spices, there was a treasure trove of culinary delights waiting to be discovered. It was a delightful surprise to find such a wide range of high-quality provisions under one roof, further showcasing the commitment to excellence that this establishment embodies.
After much deliberation, we settled on a few loaves to take home, along with a cortado to enjoy on the spot. The coffee, in particular, was a revelation—rich, robust, and expertly brewed, it provided the perfect complement to our freshly acquired bread.
Admittedly, the prices were a bit higher than what one might expect to pay for bread. However, it's important to recognize the value in supporting small businesses, especially those that prioritize quality and craftsmanship. In this case, the premium price tag felt justified by the superior quality of the products and the personalized service provided by the staff.
In summary, our impromptu visit to this charming establishment proved to be a delightful surprise. With its welcoming atmosphere, delectable offerings, and commitment to artisanal excellence, it's a gem that deserves to be cherished and frequented by bread enthusiasts, culinary adventurers, and coffee...
Read moreWe swung by this place on a Saturday afternoon after visiting Rosie's dog beach with a friend. We were lucky with parking grabbing a street spot a short walk away. The place was busy for sure but we were able to get through the line and get our food pretty quickly considering the continuous flow of people.
We first grabbed a table outside that didn't really fit all three of us and my husband brought out a snack to share while we waited for the rest of our food - We got a piece of bread with salami, goat cheese and strawberry reduction which was a perfect little snack. Thankfully we were able to get a larger table inside right after getting our food.
Thoughts on the food were overall fabulous.
My healthy friend got the cauliflower sandwich which she said was good with unique flavors and perfectly balanced. It came with a side salad which was also good but she is not a radish fan so she picked those out.
I got the Turkey & Bre sandwich which was very tasty I only ate half and like the uncoordinated person I am I dropped the 2nd half on the ground when we were leaving. I was very disappointed because it was so yummy.
My husband got the polenta porridge with a fried egg. He said it was also very good. It looked small compared to our sandwichs but after eating it all he felt good with the size It was very creamy and he did wish there were more veggies which...
Read moreSo much to say… but ultimately, Colossus is WONDERFUL!! The BEST BLT I’ve ever had. Because they use high quality ingredients! Their Soft-Scrambled Egg Toast is divine. And everything is beautifully fresh. I love their country bread, baguettes, olive cumin bread, dinner rolls… but I have so much more to try Their pastries are scrumptious: Pecan Sticky Bun, Cardamom Bun, Kouign Amann, Financier, Marzipan Croissant, Sea Salt Brownie, OG Chocolate Chip Cookie. It’s all amazing and I’ve brought a number of friends to show off this incredible Belmont Shore Bakery. On Friday nights Colossus serves pizza into the night. Again, high-quality ingredients make their pizzas delicious. Plus they have interesting and unique combinations. They are tip free because their starting wage is $21/hr. Great customer service. Cute little space with some lovely specialty spice mixes, food items, merch, and wine. Indoor and outdoor seating, and they serve tasty coffees and teas. Colossus feels like a little bit of Europe...
