I'm really disappointed, I walked in Sunday last night, excited to look around with my partner but five minutes into just looking around like every other client in the store was, the store associate walked up to us and asked me if I needed anything in specific because the store was at full capacity, otherwise I had to leave. She didn't even suggest to asking to wait outside until the store capacity went down, nothing. instead she just condescendingly repeated herself as if I didn't understand the first time.. I did notice other people walk in after us and instead of asking them to step outside because the store was at capacity they asked us. it felt almost like discrimination because when I looked around the store I noticed that we were the only people of color and of all the people she chose to ask she chose us. Again, there were other people who entered the store AFTER we did and they asked us who got there BEFORE other clients. I'm so glad I didn't give them my business. Another note: I've looked through your reviews and honestly the way you respond to them is very immature and does NOT give you guys a good look or welcoming face. I saw someone be dissatisfied with your customer service BUT STILL complimented your store and you STILL had the audacity to insult a CLIENT by telling them that they have a lousy attitude.. you guys should check...
Read moreNot surprised to find other people complaining about racial profiling and feeling uneasy while shopping here. Also not surprised at how rudely they respond to any negative reviews. Felt like I was being watched as I shopped around. A worker followed me out of the store and accused me of shoplifting. After offering to have them check my purse and pockets, they refused, walked back to the store, and wouldn’t respond as I followed them trying to talk to them. It was only when I walked back in the store and confronted them that the worker apologized, but it was clear that they weren’t convinced and believed the random customer who accused me of stealing (before I entered the store again, the worker shrugged to the person who accused me as if there was nothing they could do about it). I understand that they should follow up about such an accusation, but they (1) should have approached me more professionally instead of blaming me in the middle of another shop for a crime I didn’t commit, (2) not just walked away when I was trying to have a conversation with them, and (3) apologized more promptly and sincerely once it was clear I...
Read moreWriting this review on behalf of my husband who went to buy me a Christmas gift in the shop. I opened it up on Christmas and the first story he tells me about is how horrible the sales staff was to him. They followed him around, wouldn’t allow him to hold the items he was thinking about purchasing, and overall made him have an icky feeling of being profiled when he left.
I’m sure having a business in today’s world, you have to have precautions but profiling shouldn’t be one in your toolbox. Community stores must feel welcome to enter FOR ALL. We never write bad reviews for businesses, but this crossed the line and we had to speak up in hopes that it could usher in new behavior for the staff because the store is cute and offers...
