I picked this place since we would be in Long Beach and I just assumed it was a little hole in the wall. Boy was I wrong....

Started with the chips and salsa and was impressed by the flavor. Hubby passed since it was loaded with cilantro but I devoured the entire bowl by myself! He asked for spicy salsa and was given a bowl of habanero salsa. Usually when you get something like this it's just FIRE hot but this had great flavor. IF you like heat, ask for it!

I initially wanted tacos, beans and rice but I was talked into the Chile Rojo plate. I like a good chile Colorado. The was delicious and I am pretty picky when if comes to the red sauce. The meat was a little dry and I would have liked a little more sauce on the plate but it definitely would be a go to on my next order. The plate came out so hot the red sauce was bubbling like lava!

Hubby got the tres taco platter and it was legit! The potato taco was the bomb! SO much food we could not finish our plates!

Great restaurant. I was bummed because I wanted a margarita on the rocks but they only carried slushy ones. They have beer, too, but I wasn't in the mood for that.

It's close to CSULB and the VA hospital. Definitely glad...

I actually feel bad reviewing this restaurant but I feel for safety people should know. I ordered the Chicken Veracruz. It was a normal wait for the food. When the food came out the waiter was reaching over my son to place my plate and I reached to help put the plate down. As I touched the plate the waiter announced that the plate was hot. When I think of a hot plate, I think of a plate that has been under the warning lamps or out of the dishwasher. This plate was not one of those. It immediately burned me. When I spoke with the manager she said, but of course, they put it into an oven. I have no idea why they would do this as it wasn't more than chicken rice and beans. They did not offer me a warning nor were there any words stating this in their menu. The server acted like he did not even notice my hand was in the glass of ice water and I was crying. The manager made it seem like I should have known somehow. I can't even imagine if I had small children with me. The plate stayed hot for a very long time. No one seemed concerned at all. They acted like nothing was wrong and this is normal. I was quite put off by this. I would not recommend this place to anyone as it was a...

Best Mexican Restaurant Ever. I used to come here quite often when I lived in Long Beach, but now, I'm in a cookie cutter south OC city, where they seem to like fast food chains and bland food.

Anyways, the tacos and burritos are great, but for a real Mexican culinary treat, get yourself a dinner dish instead.

Recommended dishes in order of preference:

Carne en se Jugo Chile Rojos Botana Mixta Chicken with the Diabla sauce Carne Asada

If you ever catch them serving the rib special, please try it because it is awesome. The meat is so tender, and the flavoring is just right. In the five years that I've been going here, I've had it twice, but I would order it every time if they had it on their regular menu. The carne en se jugo is also a must.

A word of warning: Go easy on the chips and salsa. They are super delicious, and if you are not careful, you will find yourself full before your order arrives.

I've come here many times, but I've always had a great experience here. Service is very nice, and food is always great. I just wish I lived closer so I can...

I recently returned to @enriques_lb which is a Mexican restaurant located in the Marina area of Long Beach. They’re delicious across the board, but one of my go-tos is an off the menu item—the Pork Shank. Here are the details: Pork Shank This pork shank is braised until fork tender in a tomatillo sauce and then bathed in heavy cream. The end result is a dish that is both bright and rich with the sauce being a perfect complement to the rice and the meat being so soft that it tears away easily with a tortilla. In brief, Enrique’s is a legit spot for some fantastic Mexican food that is both delicious and filling. I also recommend trying the eggplants, chicken paella, and queso fundido. Next time you’re in Long Beach, CA, be sure to swing by and check out Enrique’s!

Was working nearby and had a good-rating. I should have just went to innout. I paid $35 for 2 non-alcoholic beverages and 7 shrimp with rice and beans. It did not taste very well. Plus the cook burnt the garlic (it was garlic shrimp) and if you know anything about cooking, you know garlic is mainly put in for aroma last, not to be cooked the whole duration to char. The jamaica wasn't great? Horchata was ok. The chips and salsa were unfortunately the only thing that was good. Inside the place is outdated, the seats look super dusty and was almost afraid to sit on them. I guarantee a little slap and dust would fly everywhere. I do not recommend this place.
