We have use Motel 6 for family stays in multiple locations and never had a problem, but this location is a must NOT! First they gave us a room that smelled so bad and strong like some kind of smoke, knowing we had kids, since it was just for sleeping over one night we let it slide, but people that stay there really smoke 24/7 you can smell it non stop it’s bad! Specially if you have kids, the room looked ok, but again I had kids so it was unsafe to see the old microwave on top of the mini fridge, I was scared it will fall anytime, I always bleach wipe my room when I get there and there was plenty of dirt, but honestly what topped it all off was that in the morning I went to use the restroom and as soon as I turned the light on roaches ran to hide!! I was able to kill one, we double checked all of our flags to make sure we didn’t take them home, but that’s a big NO! When we checked out I told them, they said no one had ever complained, and they will look into it, I’m like if you go to the room there is one I was able to kill on the towel on the floor. They kind of ignored so all I was left to say was that we will never come back to that location. Be really careful if you have to stay there, specially if you have family and kids with you.

I stayed here for Warped Tour in July. The location was close to the venue, whereas if I had chosen a different location I might've had to drive a bit. But boy... I should've picked somewhere else. There were roaches in my room! Every night I stayed here I found a new roach. When I was putting my shoes on to check out, out of the corner of my eye I saw there was dead roach in the furniture of the bed side. Luckily, I kept all my belongings closed up otherwise I'm sure I would've brought roaches back to my home with me. This place was very unclean, with stains on the sheets and towels. The shower head leaked when I tried adjusting it. At my time of check in another customer was complaining about their room being dirty. Management charged me 3x the normal rate and only offered me a 20% refund as compensation. With the room being as unclean as it was, I'm lucky there weren't bed bugs. I don't recommend staying at this location.

If I could give a negative -1 I would...the Non Smoking room wreaked of old ciggerets and pot!!! Such a strong weed smell it hit you in the face! We told the front desk and all they said was "Well it's a non smoking room..." Well I guess the previous guest did not follow that rule and they (house keeping) had to smell it when they clean the room because it is so, so strong...no other rooms available either?!?!?! WTH? We should have asked for our money back and go somewhere else...not sure I can stand the smell 🤢 Not to mention stains on the sheets and no towels in the room...not a pleasant experience at all... I have stayed at a lot better motel 6 than this one...very disappointed!

The decor of the room was very nice as was the size of the room. For a single Queen-size bed room for two occupants there was enormous amounts of floor space. The two tables built into the wall was a nice touch. They provided excellent work and task space. The television built into the wall unit was also very nice.

The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. Front desk was very thorough in getting my room and explaining about the motel amenities. I arrived early and the cleaning staff was still working. They were also very friendly.

The biggest thing that detracted from my stay was the huge gap under the door to my room which allowed sound from outside to come right into the room. It also allowed the room to get cold at night. I ended up blocking it with my bags.

The second thing that detracted from the enjoyment of my stay was the cockroach I encountered crawling across my bathroom floor when I went to answer nature's call at 2:00am. I summarily executed the revolting insect but it took several hammer blows from shoe to dispatch the surly beast.

One other thing to note was there didn't seem to be a temperature control on the fridge in the room. It ran all night and in the morning a water bottle I had placed in the fridge was partially frozen. Oddly a second bottle was not but I imagine this had something to do with the airflow inside the fridge. I am a light sleeper so the sound of the fridge made it difficult to fall asleep (along with the assorted street noises from the Pacific Coast Highway outside.)

Overall the stay was okay but the door gap and the cockroach (so gross) gives me pause in regards to staying at this...

I stay at Motel 6 many times throughout the year, I am sure your database can show that. Since the remodeling of your rooms over the last couple years, the cleanliness has been getting worse each time I stay at Motel 6. What I see is that with the new hard floors in the rooms, they do not seem to be getting cleaned whatsoever. So each time I check in, the first thing I have to do is take a towel and hot water and clean the floors. It is not a site that management would be ok with. The towel becomes filthy and the floors are still not clean. I have sort of accepted that this is what to expect, but really the house keepers should take ten minutes and make the floors nice so when you take your shoes off to relax your sox do not become black. This last stay in Long Beach was not so well. The room was not clean at all. The light over the sink near the bathroom did not work . The walls were dirty and in the bathroom it looked as their was blood on the wall. The room had roaches and it was just not clean at all. I had one small towel and that is it. No hand towel, no wash cloth etc... I stay with Motel 6 because of the excellent pet policy that you offer. And I always have my dog with me and Motel 6's pet policy is by far the best. I never am one to complain or say much and just accept the condition of the room and do whatever is necessary myself when it comes to cleaning it up. Lately over the last year I would say, Motel 6 rooms have gone up in price. I am paying at least 90-100 dollars per night which is an increase for sure. If those are the new prices then I feel now the rooms should reflect that...

I stayed in this Motel a few months back and I was sorely disappointed in the room and also the management. My fiance is a semi-truck driver who came off the road and needed to shower and he tried to take a shower in a bathroom not big enough to turn around in . Unfortunately, this Motel is too cheap to supply a rubber mat to keep their clientele safe from falling. That's exactly what happened he fell out of the shower and hit his hip on the toilet and it even moved the toilet when he hit his hip against it and had I not caught his head or he would have hit his head hard on the floor. When I call the manager to tell him their was an accident and my fiancee had fallen and was on the floor and I needed help getting him up he came down there with a new shower curtain and some towels to dry up the water that was all over but he's really didn't care and when we asked him about the mat he stated they don't Supply them. My fiancee's hip caused his to go to the Long Beach Memoral Hospital, by ambulance, for treatment. Unfortunately the accident caused my fiance to be off of work while he was being trrated. The manager's statement regarding placing non-slip mat in the rooms is untrue. I stayed at "Motel 6 in Claremont" and every time housekeeping came to clean our room, they gave us a clean mat in our shower! The room was well furnished and well maintained. The management was wonderful at the "Motel 6 in Claremont", unlike the "Motel 6 in Long Beach". I do not believe that "Motel 6 in Long Beach" lives up to the standards set by the franchise....
