Sorrento Italian Kitchen — Restaurant in Long Beach

Food is delicious BUT SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. They are VERY under staffed. Then when a second person came in to help the girl, he wasn't much help at all. We had to keep walking up to the counter begging for the girl to take our order...she skipped us 3 times!! She took the walk ins and the phone calls all while my family of 5 just sat there...no hello. No menus. No drinks. Nothing. My family owned restaurants before and this is NOT how you run a business. You need to make sure all your workers are aware of who came in first. And it would help if you weren't under staffed. It's summer time. More people are eating out now because it's too hot to cook. When we got there, we sat down and after 15mins of no service, we walked up to take our order after she took 3 other orders who came AFTER us and she tells us to sit back down! Our drinks took another 17 mins to come to us..the pizza took 20 mins after that. The salad was another 20 mins then the pasta came out about 15 mins after that. Usually, food is suppose to come out about the same timing....but our pizza and pasta was about 40 mins apart!! I am not joking. The food like I said is delicious..it just takes forever!! :( Please please, hire more people. I love your pizza! But my husband refuses to ever be a customer again. The family that was next to us was talking too. They also said they will never be back there again. You guys lost 2 families as customers....Maybe it's time to rethink about your business. And hire some more people so you don't over work that poor...

I loved the food! This place is a little pizza spot in a strip mall type place. I didn't expect anything too amazing but I was pleasantly surprised. The food is surprisingly tasty for a pizza joint. Well prepared, fresh Italian based dishes compose most of the menu. I've been wanting some Italian type food that wasn't pizza or calzons. This place was on Google and I decided to try it. My fam and I indeed the pesto pasta with a side salad, shrimp and broccoli fettuccine alfredo, chicken parmesano, an extra order of garlic bread, and an antipasto salad. The food was prepared fresh the salad was delicious and I ordered it with Italian dressing which seem like it was prepared in house (as apposed to coming from a bottle). The only thing I had a very small issue with was the wait staff. They seemed a bit disoriented or confused, possibly due to inexperience but that was minimal. All In all we had a great dining experience and we're pleasantly surprised by how good this little spot ended up being. I can't wait to come back and try the pizza! All In all we ended up paying just under $80 including fountain drinks. Considering that is not much more than what it costs for 3 meals at any fast food place, I'd recommend this Italian food/pizza parlor any day...

Italian food is my favorite, so I was excited to try this (new to me) place. Our family is sick, so I ordered delivery. The food was promised 30-40 minutes from when I ordered (totally reasonable). When the order went 30 minutes past the delivery window, we called the restaurant to check the status. I was rudely told that he didn’t see a ticket and that meant it was probably out for delivery and it would get there when it gets there because other people have orders, too. While I understand the basic premise of delivery, I do not understand such a gross miscalculation of time. When I asked that he contact the driver (who works for the restaurant) to get a more accurate ETA, the employee hung up on me. The food arrived an hour past the delivery window (I had to figure out alternative meals for my two young children who couldn’t wait). Then, the food was mediocre at best. The pizza was soggy and the pasta sauce was flavorless. The only thing I can say for it was that it was hot.
