Tebo's Taqueria — Restaurant in Long Beach

My wife and I were looking for a spot to eat on a Tuesday night and found Tebo's Taqueria on Google. After seeing the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. Upon arriving, we noticed that it was very easy to miss, as the entrance is right on the corner and is across the street from the Northgate Market. We were greeted by Diosalina, who gave us great customer service. We both decided for a Pozole de Puerco and each got an Horchata and Jamaica. The food was exceptionally flavorful and the chili oil was some of the spiciest we've tried in a long while. The drinks were also very delicious. This is my favorite Mexican food place in Long Beach. Almost a literal hole in the wall, Tebo's has perhaps the best tacos de lengua that I've ever tasted. And their tamales are so delicious. My family and I have ordered tamales from them for every major holiday for the past decade, and we've never been disappointed. We have even hired them several times to cater our family parties with their taquiza because of how much we have lived their food...

My first visit to this restaurant left a sour taste, despite the delicious food and friendly service. I was quoted a price of $27, but my bill came out to $38 – a significant $10 overcharge without any explanation. While the food was great and the lady serving me was nice, this kind of discrepancy is unacceptable. Unfortunately, because of this, I won't be returning. I ordered 2 burritos...
