Just left Bungalow on a Sunday for my friends birthday celebration. We arrived from opening at 2pm. Got a large table with a large group and were all opening our own tabs as couples and individuals without issue. When you order they ask for a card to put on hold until you’re ready to close. Kept it open as normal and knew my limit of what I wanted to spend. We had friends show up later in the day and started their own tabs no issues. Service was super slow without the place being that full or busy. Slow steady crowd. Took the server over 30 min to bring ketchup to our table. My friend and I went to the bar to order two more drinks because device was taking so long and happy hour is only from 2-4pm. The guys at the bar were annoyed that we ordered there due to there being separate tabs with the server. Had two men mansplain the same thing to us after us telling them we understood multiple times. Even offered to go back to my seat and order through the server if it was such an issue. They told me no we’ll do it but we shouldn’t. Like ok?? I explained service is slow fix the issue basic customer service. To explain it once is fine but twice? We continued to order drinks and food as did all of our friends. One friend showed up later had his own tab and ordered food. I let the server know I would be ordering under my tab and he would be ordering in his own tab to avoid confusion. We closed out and she told me she charged me for all of the food and my friends drink and that my card was used. I told her no and told her what was my drinks and food. She overcharged my card to the point where I only had enough to cover my limit that I set for myself. Told me she would fix it and then a young girl comes out with the worst attitude and demeanor of the night. Told me it’s not their responsibility to fix it and they’re not responsible if they charged me for my friends food. The money won’t be back into my card for another 3 days is what they said. And the bill was due so someone she didn’t care who was going to pay it. I told her that the way she approached us was awful our whole table agreed. And that them double charging me is not my issue and that they should comp the difference of the overcharge. So all she did was proceed to get security to video record our table (extremely unnecessary when she came at us extremely rude) and kick us all out after spending well over $300 collectively with separate tips form each person. Mind you we were there for a bday party for about 3 hours drinking and eating the entire time. She refused to give me my card back until security escorted us out. Not only embarrassing for a group that spent money, wasn’t problematic and came for a celebration but just absolute the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. We told her as a lead, the server had better customer service than she did. To treat us like this over $24 in difference is insane. Guaranteed I won’t ever be coming back to this location posing as a high dining experience with low class customer service. She even came outside to give me my card after saying she gave it back and continued to antagonize the situation after we were outside. As an establishment if you know your manager handled things poorly have someone else approach the upset customer maybe not the person smiling and taunting behind her giant security guards. Childish behavior and MILLY MILLIE needs to be fired. She cares more about her ego than our experience and having us end the night nicely. Disgusting behavior shitty attitude and no want to fix a simple solution and problem that you guys created. Next time you overcharge someone do something about it. It’s not our fault that your staff is too incompetent to answer questions and accommodate the customers. Thanks for ruining our evening. We definitely will never come back and all of my business partners looking for a spot will not hear bungalow in Long Beach from us. What a disappointment. Read moreThe Bungalow in Long Beach has a great location and the overall aesthetic of the place is really impressive at first glance — it looks amazing and definitely gives off a fun, upscale vibe.
However, our experience was mixed. Right from the entrance, the security staff came off as unprofessional — one of them seemed either drunk or high, which was definitely a red flag. Once we made it to the patio area, the atmosphere quickly shifted. Despite the beautiful setup, the patio was noticeably dirty, which took away from the otherwise cool vibe.
On the bright side, the service was solid and the staff inside were attentive. The music was good and definitely set the mood for a fun night. Drinks, however, were pretty hit-or-miss — I'd rate them between a 2 and a 5 depending on what you order.
Overall, it’s a good spot if you’re just looking to have some casual fun, enjoy the music, and hang out with friends — but don’t expect anything beyond that. It has potential, but some details really need attention.

The friendly hosts were replaced with bouncers, the food menu is now mostly small plates and snacks, cocktails are mediocre at best and the music is just meh...
It is now a bar with some food, when it used to be an excellent restaurant with great cocktails. I don't know, we felt out of place.
Service was good as our servers were very friendly, but it took way too long to get our cocktails and food out of the kitchen. One of our plates came out almost when we had finished all the others.
Basically all that's left of the previous Bungalow is the place itself which still looks beautiful. But sadly everything else has changed and, for us, it's not worth coming...
