Van Leeuwen Ice Cream — Restaurant in Long Beach

I’ve been on a hunt for the sweet treat spots since relocating to Long Beach, and this spot was recommended to me countless times.

First of all, it’s the cutest color scheme and overall vibe inside the shop. There’s even a fun sitting area that surrounds the ice cream bar!

Next, the flavor and texture was on POINT. I’m a huge Mint & Chip supporter, and can sometimes be a bit hypercritical of the flavor. However, I knew as soon as I sampled this round of Mint & Chip, that I found a winner.

I always stop by Van Leeuwen now whenever I'm at 2ND&PCH. It is amongst one of the top spots on my to-revisit ice cream shops and is the first that I write a review on. What I usually get:

2 scoops waffle cup Flavors: Earl grey and honeycomb

The ice cream was so creamy with flavors that were subtle and authentic (9/10). I was especially impressed with the earl grey one. A plus, it was not overly sweet and paired well with the waffle that has a hint of cinnamon taste yum yum 😋

After first trying Van Leeuwen and their unique flavors in NYC, I was super excited to see that they opened in LB at 2nd & PCH!

Got a double/“gooder” scoop to share with my daughter.

Their flavors are delicious and got some good unique ones, and ice cream quality is creamy goodness!

It wasn’t easily seen to me on their sign, but I am slightly surprised/disappointed to not see a kid sized scoop posted? A smaller size scoop for my daughter would’ve been preferred over single size (and lesser price for smaller size).
