Abuelita's — Restaurant in Longmont

I ventured to this establishment with a mix of excitement and high expectations, influenced by glowing reviews and a personal quest for the perfect breakfast burrito. Located conveniently close to my workplace, the prospect of finding a go-to breakfast spot was enticing. Unfortunately, the experience fell notably short of anticipation.

The burritos, the main actors of this morning culinary drama, lacked the vibrancy and depth of flavor one craves at the start of the day. Describing them as flavorless and dull is disheartening, especially when the expectations were set high. A good breakfast burrito should awaken the taste buds, but this was a missed opportunity to do so.

Equally disappointing was the salsa. A critical component of any Mexican or Tex-Mex dish, especially a breakfast burrito, the salsa lacked the fundamental elements of spice, salt, and pepper. This absence rendered it unremarkable and incapable of saving the burrito from its blandness.

Despite the anticipation built upon the strength of others' reviews, my experience was underwhelming. This breakfast visit did not live up to the hype, leading me to continue my search for a great breakfast burrito elsewhere. What a great little spot! I can not speak highly enough of the people here. My son & I popped in on a whim because I wanted a breakfast burrito. We went about noon and got the last chorizo burrito. If you're aiming for breakfast, you might want to go a little earlier. It was, by far, the friendliest place I've been to in a long time. The food was delicious.

I am picky about my breakfast burritos. And while it was SO GOOD, I won't aim for this spot for my next one. I like potatoes and eggs and green chili with a little kick. This was meaty and red and nothing large enough to identify. But I'm positive I was eating beans at the end. Beans for breakfast aren't my thing. But it was noon and delicious with the nicest people so it's a solid five stars.

We parked and went inside to find what looked like a little deli. There appeared to be a window that would allow you to order from the patio area. There are tables outside which could be a fun little place to eat. There is plenty of parking and it's a short detour from the main thoroughfare.

Had heard good things about this place and we were not mis-lead. It was quite tasty. Had a smothered burrito which was delishious. Chilli relleno was really good as were the enchaladas with red sauce. Nothing very spicy but everything had its own unique flavor and very good. Tiny place so only one table and more of a takeout but that is ok. Staff was very friendly and restaurant/ kitchen all looked very clean. I felt like it was a little expensive but after tasting the food it is well worth it. We will definately be going back to try some breakfast options. This place is definitely added at the top of our list as a Mexican food option in longmont! Really happy...
