I honestly want to give these guys a five-star rating, but that would not be honest of me. They are the best Mexican I've had in Colorado so far. The place looks like a typical uninviting taco shop from SoCal, which for me is a good sign that it is probably legit. The ambiance is drab, but right when you walk in, you'll notice most of the people eating there have ancestors from south of the border, another great sign. Chips and salsa are not complimentary and while the chips are definitely authentic tortilla chips they only give you a little hot sauce to dip. In my opinion if you have to pay for chips then for sure it should come with salsa picante, pico de gallo, and/or guac. I had a major burrito craving which is what led me to finding this place and driving an hour and a half to get there. I was not disappointed and would be happy to have them again but I wasn't blown away either. They have a different way of setting up their menu that I am used to but after looking at the menu for a minute I figured it out and actually it's pretty customizable for protein options. The prices are decent and you can definitely fill up without breaking the bank. The horchata is great, the tacos also great and I noticed they have menudo on the menu which I'm excited to go...
Read moreBest Mexican food we have found in NoCo since moving here from SoCal. Most Authentic tasting Mexican food we've had in Colorado (not TexMex or smothered with green chili). Have been going regularly for the past year and have never had to wait long for our food whether eating in or to go. I waited 20 minutes one time for my to go order that was the only time, not a huge sacrifice when I'm craving authentic sopes, hechos a mano, de chicharron. Yes, there are some things that they don't have like Mole and their shredded chicken was so salty one time that I couldnt eat it once, whoever was making it that day must have forgotten & salted twice. The staff has always been very nice & helpful. We've tried almost everything on their menu now and have been very satisfied. The Asada is consistently good and so is the lengua. We even ordered 10lbs of it once for a lunch we were hosting that I didnt have time to make it myself for. Will continue to go unless we find a better place closer to us, but I...
Read moreDo NOT bring your kids here! NEVER coming again. Been coming since they were on the corner (at least 2x a month) then they moved next to king soopers and ate 3-4x a week for lunch. Their food started to go down hill BEFORE covid-19. I kept coming back because it is a locally owned place. I brought my kid (1yr old) and feed him and the lady (owners daughter, you been here, you know which one) said I cant bring food from outside. I told her It's not mine, it's his (point to my 1yr old) you have kids you know how it is. She said sorry he can't eat it. Im done eating here and supporting them. I do agree their is better tacos places then here. (Which supporting because I loved this place, but food went down, then now telling me I can't feed him! It's a $3 missed on buy food for my son BUT we tip very well so they don't loose money... hes a 1yr old!!) BETTER FOOD...
