The food and service was decent but we were given a lot of issues due to our highchair age toddler. They sat us at a booth (knowing we had 2 kids with us) and proceeded to walk away. When I asked for a high chair they looked at me like I was speaking an alien language. She then told us that we can't have a highchair at a booth anymore due to telling hazards for the servers. That was fine. We gladly moved to a different table to be accommodated with the highchair. The 2nd table we were sat at was freezing cold and right by the side door. They moved us down 2 tables after my mom complained about the cold. Awesome. Dinner is going good. Our waitress was nice and helpful. Then as part of our party was using the restroom and we were boxing up our leftovers someone who I assume was a manager came up to our table. He told us that the highchairs need to be used in place of a regular chair along the tables now due to the safety hazards... I don't know what he meant to accomplish telling us this. We were already done with our meal and getting ready to leave. His staff had moved our table twice and never mentioned the highchair needing to be placed along the side. Mind you we were a party of 5 sitting at a 4 top table... Where were we supposed to sit the highchair? As we were leaving the restaurant we noticed they had flipped around 4 tables to make 1 big table and had several full grown adults sitting along the side like the highchair was sitting at our table. Why was it Okayfor them but not for us?! This is clearly not a very family friendly location. We will not be back. The only thing that saved this visit was...
Read moreWe went last night for my cousin's birthday dinner, got there about 5 o clock. There were about 8 of us, so we didn't expect fast service. However, when the surrounding tables wich were empty when we got there, had already eaten and paid, it dawned on us that it had been much to long. Finally at about 7 o clock, after complaining to 3 waitress' and asking for the manager, the manager shows up and apologizes. Half of our table got their food, and the other half waited another 30 minutes. By the time the second half of the food was brought, the rest of us were ready to move onto dessert. We didnt end up leaving until about 8:15. I cant say that I have ever waited that long to get my food. When the food DID arrive, it was cold and sub-par, no one ever came to ask how it was or if we needed anything. The manager was alright but you could tell she didn't want to come out and talk to people (do her job) even when requested it took her a while to come out. Let me also say, they were not busy at all for a Saturday night. If this is how they treat their customers, its a wonder theyre still in business. I will never be returning to this establishment. When someone asks for a drink refill, it shouldn't take an hour for you to remember. We ended up getting our meal comped (which honestly, was very much necessary because most of us were still hungry due to the small portion sizes.) The food was also extremely salty and slimy, my grandma is not picky at all and she refused to eat the Alfredo because it tasted and looked like it was dumped out of a can...
Read moreI haven't been to an Applebee's in over a decade. Followers of my post know that most chain restaurants are not my thing, but I received a gift card so why not. Well, I hate to say that this visit didn't go well.
We ordered two burgers with boneless wings and pretzel sticks as an appetizer. Food was slow to come out...nearly 25 minutes and the restaurant was about half full when we ordered. The burgers arrived at the table first and the appetizer showed up 10 minutes later. That was annoying but the server took those off the bill without us making a fuss so that was nice.
The pretzel sticks were actually pretty good, but the cheese dip and honey mustard were sub par. They were both very watery. Our burgers were cooked correctly but they just didn't have any taste. The side of fries was fine but forgettable.
Our server was pleasant but was not around much. I joked that maybe she liked someone in the kitchen because you didn't see her in the dining room much during our visit. The manager was actually waiting on tables and walked past a few times without saying a word even though we had been sitting at the table for 10 minutes waiting for the bill. My wife was about to go to the bar to get our check when our server arrived and handed it to us.
I was glad we had a gift card. Had I paid $45 for this meal, I would have felt robbed. Needless to say, we won't be going back. This won't hurt them, though. The place was fairly busy by the time we left, so others must be fine with this level of service and...
