Thank the awesome service of the server, whose name is Christy. She made the overall experience amazing. That's what going out to eat is about not just the taste of the food but everything and that can be dictated by the service all in itself. Christy is a gem. I hope that the owners understand and appreciate her. The food was ok. My dish was the biscuits and gravy combo, and I will have to say I was a bit disappointed. The scalians on top of the biscuits and gravy overpowered the taste way too much, of course, which means they were fresh, but they were too generous with what they put on top. I did ask for additional gravy to improve taste, but the gravy itself is not extremely flavourful. I would expect it to be from a soul food dish. The biscuits were not fluffy they were crumbly. The eggs, though three are designated, we're not fluffy. They are also not very tasty, which leads me to question where the eggs come from and how fresh they are. My daughter says that normally, it's the chicken and waffles that are amazing. Next time. I come, that is what I will try. In addition, the morning delivery was blocking the disabled parking spot, which only there is one of, and the parking lot full in the back. This is illegal. I understand this space is small, but delivery should happen before hours or not be blocking that space. When I mentioned it, I was given excuses and not action. I had to stop the gentleman. I was speaking to and tell him to hear what I was saying. There are many selections to choose from on the menu, so I'm not going to assume my experience with my dish was the only one. I would care to guess with how popular the place is and the fact that my daughter likes It ... it means that there are other things on the menu that are fabulous. I do recommend this place. Everything was it's exceptional in the way of service and our food coming out quickly correctly and hot. Anything we asked for came right away. It was a very enjoyable meal and atmosphere. It was my daughter's birthday, so they came out with a waffle surprise with whip cream and berries that was extremely tasty. I...

OLD REVIEW
This has been a favorite place for the last 6+ months. We have been countless times, it's pretty much become a weekend tradition.
Something has happened over the last two months to service however.
Several recent visits -
We've had to ask to have our order taken after waiting 20+ minutes after being sat, watching others that had come in and been sat after get servers food before we've ordered. In two cases we were told our server has gone on break.
Coffee refills again our on a "jump up and catch a server as they run past" to ask basis.
I don't know if staffing has dropped off or if process has changed.
We sat this past weekend pondering if we were "done" given the change in experience.
The food remains amazing, the servers remain friendly but the experience has become frustrating.
This is one of our favorite local breakfast spots, we rave about it to friends coming to the area and bring them here. It would be a personal loss for us if it didn't continue to be a positive, joyful weekend experience.
I wish they had a website as I'd rather this be a personal note of changed experience for the leadership team.
For anyone reading this far - definitely go and enjoy the food. It's...
Read moreHonestly I was super excited to go there mostly to try the lavender drink... so we get there (only 2 people) and we are told that there is a 40 minutes wait... at this point there is 6 people ahead of us... so we wait outside and we see people living the place so now some tables should be free... 15/17 minutes through the wait we go inside to check it out and the whole 1st front of the place (which is half of the restaurant)is totally empty and there is 4 tables... so we ask the girl at the front if we're going to be seated soon since so many table were free plus 1 small table for 2 outside and she replied that there is tons of poeple ahead of us and that the wait will be another 25 minutes... so at that point we understand that they like having people standing in line outside eventhough all of us could had been seated within 10 minutes so after waiting for about 20/25 minutes we just left and went across the street a little down on Ventura to another great breakfast place! and 5 minutes later they called us to be seated... No thank you we went elsewhere because we don't really like the marketing techniques of making people stand outside when there is space inside but they keep you waiting on purpose... bad costumer service! so that's my experience of Waffles and did I mention that I drove from North Hollywood and my friend drove from Westlake to...
