Poquito Mas — Restaurant in Los Angeles

This place needs to be paid a visit by a food & safety inspector. This is quite possibly the worst Mexican food I've ever had and I've had some bad ones. Stay away, total waste of money. Apparently they don't think much of their customers here. They do not make your meat fresh and cooked to order. The flank steak was completely flavorless and the vegetables were soggy and sad but also lacked flavor. The cook should win an Academy award for acting like he was making fresh food. I ordered the protein plate. I made a pathetic attempt to salvage the meal by pouring some of their "fresh" made salsas all over it but failed miserably. It's as if they are not using any salt or seasoning in their food. The employees looked sad, the cooks looked shady and the food matched the atmosphere. I've had the Sherman Oaks one a couple of times and it was ok. This location however, needs to be looked at by the owner of the franchise before they ruin their name. Maybe the locals don't know what good Mexican food is, but you can't fool an L.A. native. Zero Stars....

The first time we tried their food was when my wife had food ordered at their work. She was very impressed with the quality so we decided to visit their actual restaurant. They have a location in Woodland Hills which is pretty medium in size, has maybe 10-15 tables. Menu is straight forward, everything you expect from nachos to tacos and burritos . The first time we ordered nachos and ahi tuna burrito. Their prices are extremely fair and food is fresh and very generous size. My wife tried their nachos before so she ordered it again, huge plate with beans, guacamole, sour cream, salsa. My ahi tuna burrito was huge and very tasty, we were surprised how large their portions are. We absolutely love their salsa bar, we always go and take multiple portions of different fresh salsa's they make. Delicious! This time we ordered nachos again and tuna and tilapia tacos with beans and rice on the side. We thought we ordered too much food but it was so fresh and yummy we finished every last bit. Jacqueline was very helpful and professional and gave me some really good recommendations. The service was fast and the food was fresh and authentic. If you're looking for something healthy they'll guide you as to the options that are most in line with that. The parking is not a problem, there are spots all over the place and neat Trader Joes & prices are reasonable. I got the chicken protein plate and it was very flavorful with some really good sauces. The grilled vegetables were also a nice addition. I recommend people come here for some tasty Mexican cuisine or a nice casual meal. I've heard the tazons are really good and plan on trying those next time. I can totally see why their motto “We don’t serve fast food. We serve fresh food as fast as we can.” hits home after trying them out. After all, you are able to see them actually making the fresh tortillas.
