85°C Bakery Cafe - Northridge — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I've been coming here for 5+ years. Order the same thing everyday. 99% of the time it tastes awful and I wonder why I keep coming. It's within walking distance, it's just so easy. Unfortunately even after speaking with upper management, store management, and each employee they simply cannot figure out how to make modifications to their drinks.

Ask for extra ice, they'll give you regular, sometimes almost no ice. 1% of the time will you get extra ice.

Ask for extra caramel, they'll ignore it. Ask them to remake it, they'll make it the same damn way. 1% of the time they'll give you a lot of caramel.

One time they seemingly ran out of caramel and their best solution was using pumpkin flavoring from fall. Didn't tell me, I just took a swig and got a mouthful of bitter pumpkin. Not even joking.

You have better odds winning the lotto than coming here and getting good service. 5 years spending $10 a day and nobody knows our names, drink order or greets us. At least Starbucks doesn't have a problem giving you what you pay for. This place will charge you extra for something and then gaslight you into thinking they remade the drink differently.

Not to mention they're constantly running out of straws, drink toppers and caramel... AND the place smells of rotten milk and is rarely clean.

It must be said that there are two lovely ladies who make our drinks correct every time - unfortunately they are not there everytime. There have been employees in the past who also did a great job but the majority + managers seem to not pay attention to modifications or simply do not care.

The food is great as always however, this is the first time I've experienced a rude worker at this bakery. Please work on customer service and communication. If you don't like working at the bakery, quit and find another job or don't have it affect work as it clearly affects the customers. Better yet, don't work for a customer service company. Portos Bakery is nearby and ALWAYS busy yet their workers give the best customer service! A woman who works there starts with an E maybe Elaina? She was so rude and unprofessional. Kept slamming food trays at the cashier's side and slamming stacks of trays in the front of the store. Clearly not wanting to work. She's not smiling, showing a bad attitude. I was ready to pay but I wanted to grab more stuff so I told her that I'd be right back and she stared at me so annoyed. I then asked a simple question regarding the food that was noted as "unavailable" and her response was "If it says unavailable, it's unavailable" in a completely rude tone. Come to find out the item was not unavailable but ready for purchase on a table. I went back in line to pay and she left the cashier not wanting to help me check out after other customers. The guy who helped me at the end was great but also didn't know why there was a note saying the item was unavailable. No team communication regarding items on sale?? Also, clearly, other customers have left reviews for bad customer service. The company replies "We take pride in customer service"!?! It's unfortunate to have her work and represent the company. We absolutely love this bakery from top to bottom. We have been to few of them around town and none will disappoint you. When you step inside it is so easy to pick what you want.

Grab a tray with tongues and choose from numerous items in the open cases. Their bakery is so so good, I would get few of each, including sweet and non sweet. Sweet cheese bread is just ridiculous as well as chocolate chip bread. Yumm! If you need cakes, you will need help from the cashier. They have self serve screen for drinks at their Northridge location and let me just tell you how delicious their iced peach tea is OMG!!

Ok, so totally yummy bakery is not even the best part, their prices are! They range from $1.50 to around $2 each and each item is huge, so for around $10 you can get a nice drink and few pastries to go with it, which I think is fantastic deal. It has been always packed but the line to pay moves very quickly.

Highly recommend you visit them.
