I don't care for sports bars so this wasn't my atmosphere but putting that aside, for a sports bar it had the best atmosphere you could have wanted! Happy hour was a delight with both of the appetizers and drinks! Everyone at our table ordered different plates and each was completely satisfied with their own! I personally had the New England Clam Chowder and a House Salad. The salad even though the ingredients were basic, it was still prepared with elegance! The soup was served in a bread bowl with more soup than bread, (which in my opinion is the way bread bowls should be made), and the clam chowder was one of the best versions of clam chowder that I have ever had! For once there was actual clam meat and huge chunks so you could actual taste and enjoy it and not so many potatoes. I always find that when there are too many potatoes then that's all I taste and it's more really a potato chowder with a sprinkle of clam, if there is any clam at all. Thankfully Barney's Beanery had the recipes down to not only my meal but everyone else's as well! And if this hasnt sold you so far let me just say that the prices were reasonable and well fit for the food, the waitstaff was a delight and even response to our 4 year old at the table with an requests she had (normally children don't get attention but it was nice to see a change in my opinion) As a sports bar they definitely exceed expectations! High recommended! Worth every...
Read moreHands down our favorite place to eat in Westwood. We're here from out of town and we ate here on our first night in town and I had a foot long REAL Nathan's hot dog (I'm from NY originally and haven't seen a Nathan's in years so I was very excited to have that!) which was delish and it came with a nice side of fries. Hubby had the chili and liked it. The inside of the restaurant is VERY noisy and crowded because the world series games were on so we sat outside which was very nice, but the seating is very uncomfortable (very tall benches and seats). Waitresses are super nice and very accommodating and attentive. Last night was our last night here and we ate there again and sat outside. I had the baby back ribs which were meaty and delicious and came with cole slaw, and hubby had a Mexican platter with a few different things on it and he enjoyed it also. They have a very diverse menu, definitely something for everyone. Our waitress was super nice and I had mentioned that I'm having open heart surgery and it was my last meal before I have to start a crash diet prior to the surgery and she gave us pumpkin pie on the house, which was really sweet of her. We love Barney's Beanery so much that we each bought a t-shirt to take home with us. If we're ever in town again we'll definitely be back. We'll miss...
Read moreThis was an epic evening of failures. The first order of drinks took forever to complete. We were a group of 5 at the time but the prosecco that was ordered first took at least 45 minutes to get, after multiple reminders. They were out of most beers the non-prosecco-ordering members of our group asked for. The waiter had to go back and forth to check. After a while we said: "If you don't have this, try this, or this..." Then the waiter came back and said "we do not have any pina coladas". We: "but we ordered a prosecco! ... Nevermind, bring in a lager if you do not have prosecco". Then we started to receive several lagers. And finally the prosecco. Meanwhile, food had started to come in. One friend didn't finish his and got a box to-go. Later a waiter accidentally pushed it off the table and it emptied out on the floor. They apologized and ordered in a new one for us. That was nice. When the check came in, multiple items were from someone else's table, so we had to sort that out too. The patio is really nice to sit on and the place's got "vibe". But the service was amazingly terrible. I was impressed, I couldn't have done a worse job myself, with zero experience. We had fun though and...
