I visited on a Thursday at approximately 2315, which is close to their closing time. Ordered dozen assorted cookies, the selection of which I left to the server. All cookies were requested sans nuts, because nuts and I don't always get along.
The good: The cookies were mostly soft and chewy, and not overly sweet, which I appreciate.
The meh: The cookies are served in a white bag rather then the fancy bakery box you may hope for, but it's acceptable for the price point. The cookies themselves also have a dullness to their appearance.
The bad: Upon consumption I noticed the cookies had varied textures. Mostly soft, but occasionally hard portions of dough. Which means that the dough didn't bake properly, either due to improper mixing, storage or some other cause. This was disappointing.
Im essence: The cookies are cheap, and pretty decent. I've had better cookies (even better cookies from Subway) but since it was towards end of day, it's hard to tell the exact culprit. These cookies are probably best with ice cream, which is what the bakery is known for, so if you're looking for ice cream and cookies, you probably won't be disappointed.
If you're just looking for a bunch of cookies that are a step above most grocer bakeries, this will suffice.
For really next level cookies, this is not your place, Zooies is not far, and I'd definitely recommend...
Read moreAbsolutely love this place. Can you believe that you can get a dozen of tasty cookies for $5.30 nowadays? No wonder there is always a long line here.
This place has been here since the 80’s. It’s not only popular with the students at UCLA but with the people all over LA who would drive more than an hour to get here for the cookies and ice cream.
Although my daughter is a Trojan, she was still willing to come with us to get the cookies and ice cream with her mom to celebrate her birthday.
We bought a few dozens of cookies for ourselves and to give to friends. Our favorites are the candy and white chocolate cookies.
The cookies are very good to go with ice creams. we ended up with a few cups of ice creams with white chocolate chip cookies. They were so decadent and delicious.
Besides the cookies, their brownies are very good too. For $1 each, it’s a steal for a good brown. I bought half a dozen to take home.
Parking is easy for this place. There is a paid public parking lot right next...

I have been coming here the past decade and it never disappoints. Very delicious cookies, ice cream sandwiches, brownies, and Dreyer's ice cream that is SO CHEAP (just 50 cents a cookie)! An ice cream sandwich (2 cookies + heaping scoop of ice cream in the middle) is just $4.00. Prices have increased over the years, but still... so inexpensive! They also have many different shaved ice flavors to choose from, as well as milk, coffee, and water.
The line can get really long in the evenings, the summertime and warm days, but today, a Saturday in a mid-60F overcast day in middle of January 2022 there was no line when I went at 2:43pm.
Note: MINIMUM $5 ON CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD. It used to be cash-only but nice they have that now!
