Short Review: Friendly team with great enthusiasm. Burger and fries itself are standard. Pretty decent smash burger not the best. Paid for extra toppings of bacon, kimchi and jalepenos on both burgers and didn’t receive them. If there is a long line I would skip it.
Long review bare with me:
Brand new, burger street food stand in Reseda, located on Saticoy.
Burger 3000 LA has been getting serious publicity, reviews and love on the social media scene.
Since it was so close to my house I had to check it out.
I met the owners, the cook, and their whole team. Owner told me to leave an honest review on Yelp and Google, so here it is.
Their whole team consists of young gentlemen, working hard to provide a service to the community. They've been in business for almost a month now, and they have been getting a great amount of demand. Their owner said they have a good problem which is filling that demand with more supply.
Everybody was extremely friendly, helpful and professional.
First off, I heard there was gonna be a long line when ordering, so I made sure to be the first person there. Their hours state that they open at 12. I arrived right before noon and I saw them still setting up. I didn't want to bug them just yet, so I decided to go shopping at Albertsons. By 1215 I went up to them and see if I could order. They obliged and told me to come back in a half an hour as they were getting ready.
My order was two Oklahoma (grilled onions with pickles) burgers, both with extra toppings of bacon, kimchi, jalapeños, and one classic fry and one meat beast. The cook told me he would upgrade my classic order of fries to beast fries without the extra charge. That was super nice of him.
I waited patiently in the car for a half an hour, and I went back to check to see if my order was ready.
Knowing that I was one of the first customers there, I saw that an attractive influencer pulled up after me and they were able to get their order before mine.
This was not a problem in my book until I found out when I got home that both my burgers were missing the extra toppings of kimchi, bacon, jalapeños that I paid extra for. I noticed The cook give bacon to the influencer. And wonder if that was supposed to be my bacon.
By the time I got home I noticed the missing toppings but of course I was hungry and I still indulged.
It is a Solid smash burger with nice seasoning.
Is it the best? No
It is delicious and worth the try.
Is it worth the wait?
Depends on your patience. The wagyu factor didn't put it over the top since it's smashed and most of the juices flow out while cooking.
The fry toppings are good and I recommend getting the extra meat patty on top of them. But the fries themselves, are pretty basic standard fries.
Knowing that many Smashburger places don't serve bacon let alone kimchi or jalapeño. I was excited Burger 3k offered this. But I was seriously disappointed that those toppings were missing from my burger experience.
I would go back with my friends and see how they like it.
Overall great to support local businesses especially young men striving to be successful.
Unfortunate that I missed out on the extra...
Read moreI've been wanting to try to this place since they opened up the new location at Mason & Lassen a couple months ago. My wife & I had both heard about them prior to that, when they were still a pop-up food stand on Tampa/Saticoy, but we never had a chance to make it over there. Once they opened up this new location, we were determined to go, as we both love a quality smashburger!
Finally had a chance to go in early December, and again on January 11th, and we're impressed! First off, it has to be noted that this is a smashburger joint. This is not In 'N Out or Fatburger, or other traditional types of burgers....they make smashburgers, which are a very specific type of burger, and they do a damn good job of it! If you don't know what a smashburger is, check it out before going here, so you know what you're getting.
My wife & I each had a double wagyu smashburger, hers with pickles & onions, and mine with bacon. We also had a side of fries and an order of mozzarella sticks. The food was hot, fresh, cooked to order and came out packaged well, with their fry sauce on the side and ranch + marinara for the mozzarella sticks. The burger were fantastic! The patties were cooked well, seasoned & salted well and really tasty. The fries were golden brown & cooked to perfection, and the mozzarella sticks were breaded well, without being greasy or oily. We spent $44 with tax, and although the price seems a little high, when you consider the high quality & freshness of their ingredients it's worth it....and to put it in perspective, places like 5 Guys and Steak & Shake are just as expensive, if not even slightly more. Overall, we both enjoyed our food, and felt it was worth the money spent!
With regard to the location itself, the place has a great vibe! Outdoor (covered) seating only, but they've got a good sound system playing current music, patio lights & multicolor style Christmas lights draped across the seating area and plenty of tables & chairs with a pseudo-wall partially blocking out the street traffic & noise. Overall it felt comfortable & cozy and had a good feel & a fun vibe.
Highly recommended, and we're looking forward...
Read moreFirst of all, if you dont really know about burger quality then youll probably be duped thinking its good when its really not. Quality is mid! Theres no special taste to it. Their burgers are just mid tasting and not worth overhyping it as if they were gourmet.. Burgers are way smaller in person and I 100% highly doubt theyre really using Wagyu meat as I know the difference especially biting into a gristle which only happens in the cheapest ground beef! I had the Oklahoma burger and 100% tastes like a wannabe In N Out Double Double! In N Out tastes was better and youre better off buying 2 Double Doubles which is actually still cheaper and tastes way better! I feel like they use bigger burgers in their ad videos to BS you while its a lot smaller in person. I can tell theyre using cheap ground beef and just smashing it and frozen bagged cheap style Costco or Smart N Final shoe string fries as well! I honestly believe they just use fancy names like Wagyu and etc. to hype it up to BS the consumer! Im sure avid burger chefs and foodies out there will catch them lying as well which is very bad business! And, they dont even give you the black vinyl gloves as they say as well because its really not needed and overhyped to subliminally con the customer to go to there right away when its all BS at the end of the day! Again, I truthfully 110% bit into a gristle which shouldnt be there if its really supposed to be real Wagyu grounded beef. Gristles are usually found in the cheapest ground beef and if it were real Wagyu the taste would melt into your taste buds and would be a more expensive burger to begin with! They will surely be investigated by avid real chefs and will surely be exposed! Dont believe into their Instagram or social media hype as its all again, overhyped fake burger foodie...
