My family and I have been patrons of the reseda location on Vanowen ave. since it’s been around. The food was authentic affordable and delicious and a reasonable amount of food, no frills with a fun traditional Mexican art atmosphere. Of course there’s no expectations that prices will remain the same after the years but there was a basic formula that kept the menu affordable. When moved to the Chatsworth area we were excited to discover a new location. We’ve only ordered delivery from there 3 times. Food is consistently simple and delicious. The prices have significantly increased. To order 1 combo dish, 1 appetizer, an add on (one extra enchilada or taco), chips and pico de gallo. Each one a separate charge because there’s no pico or salsa or a handful of chips with any meal. $50 to have it delivered. Was able to make 2 meals out of the food but you know with delivery is always another $20 + to get to your house. So if I cost average a meal for two which is only one combo meal and an appetizer because we split its affordable at $13-$15 per person, but if we order 2 meals and an appetizer and chips and salsa it’s a lot of money from the original menu. It’s far from affordable. I know it’s the times but the departure from the affordability is a tough one to take in as it’s been a family staple for us. My major complaint though is each time I’ve ordered delivery from the chatsworth location I ordered 1 add on item to the combo meal and they have not once in 3 orders put it in the meal. I’ve now lost money on my last 3 orders. The last one was yesterday ordered enchiladas combo with an extra enchilada. Yet again no extra enchilada but have the chargers on my card and receipt. I don’t recommend ordering delivery from this restaurant. I don’t even call because the first time I called and let them know they argued with me. I just quit ordering delivery from this restaurant after being a lifetime patron. Authentic Mexican food is not hard to find in Los Angeles , 3 stars because it’s always yummy not phenomenal but yum. Oh and our family has been and continues to patron their other restaurants the family owns across the valley. So I’m kinda bummed from the delivery experience. If you choose to go great but don’t order delivery. Our family is always happy to support local family businesses. Attached receipt as can see add on item (the one item that never gets delivered) plus the cost of delivery and tip and if you want chips and some type of salsa those also need to be ordered as separate items. Can’t just get a small side...
Read moreI absolutely love Las Fuentes if I could eat here every day, I would. If only they were closer to my workplace! This is their second location in the area. I’ve been to the original a couple years ago with my family when I was younger, but the parking situation there leaves much to be desired, so I rarely go back. When this location opened on Mason in Chatsworth, I was thrilled. Now I get to enjoy their food more often especially my go to: the salpicón de pollo tostada. I always douse it generously with fresh lemon juice, and on days when I’m feeling a little adventurous, I top it off with their vibrant green salsa. It has just the right amount of heat probably thanks to the blend of chiles they use. It’s the kind of salsa that wakes up your taste buds without overwhelming them. My wife is a fan of their taquitos, which are truly something special crispy, flavorful, stuffed just right, and finished with all the right toppings. Honestly, who could complain? Las Fuentes is, and will always be, my go to spot for authentic, soul satisfying Mexican food. The service is consistently top-notch. You order at the counter, receive a number, a tray, and your drink and then the staff brings your food to the table with a smile. If you need anything, they’re always happy to help. The ambiance is exactly what you’d hope for in a traditional Mexican eatery warm, colorful, and inviting. It feels like stepping into someone’s home where you’re treated to a lovingly prepared meal. Es toda una experiencia. I would recommend Las Fuentes any day of the week to anyone craving delicious, honest-to-goodness Mexican food....
Read moreHave frequented the Reseda location as well as their sister locations Senior Sol and Sol Y Luna since I can remember. This location actually really disappointed me as the portions were so tiny for how expensive it was. I only got one item the cheese enchilada plate which personally I feel quite simple and cant mess up. First thing is you have to pay extra for some chips which I thought was interesting considering at the other locations it comes with the meals so that was already strike one. Secondly I did take out so obviously portions will not be the same as in the establishment but the portions were so tiny I have small hands and the rice portion was smaller than the palm of my hand I have included images of what those looked like. Also the tortilla was super hard in the enchilada which is super odd and the rice was also incredibly hard. Overall I like the other locations but it is a bummer that this location really does not compare even the slightest bit to the other locations because of how bad the food was. Personally do not think I would return to that location in the future based on my review. Thanks.
PS: I did consider that maybe due to it being takeout and taking it home it would affect the result however, when I would frequent the Reseda location, which was 5 miles further than this chatsworth location, the food was still piping hot and consistent with their brand while the chatsworth location which is about 2 miles from me was cold and hard and small in portion size. I think a lot can be worked on to achieve the same quality which is really lacking at...
