Would have given this spot 5 stars a couple months ago when I first started coming here because their coffee really is good.

But the owner/manager definitely needs to spend more time training new hires and making sure they know the universal basics of coffee making. I have noticed the past few times I’ve come that some of the employees are completely lost. Yesterday I ordered an oat milk cappuccino. The guy that rang me up had no idea where to start so he called over someone to help him. The second guy started making my drink and I noticed him mixing in some powders. When I tried it, and it clearly wasn’t a cappuccino, I asked him what he put in it. He told me “Cappuccino… oat milk and nesquick!” When I asked them to remake it and literally had to explain what a cappuccino was, the other guy tried to tell me that “some people order it like that”… No guy, no one orders their cappuccinos like that.

Please take the time to train your employees. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will...

This place is hilarious, zero shame. If you order a matcha latte or any latte, they just give you a cup of straight up milk ($7, medium). Every single time without fail. I actually get a kick out of it and go back for entertainment purposes to test how far they’ll take it and they manage to get worse every time. At this point it’s a well oiled scam hidden behind a smile. A medium matcha latte should be GREEN or even LIGHT GREEN!!!!!!!, NOT WHITE. I even mix it like a madman and it’s still white. You own a coffee shop, do yourself a favor go to other shops like Reborn and look at the color of their matcha latte and compare it to yours. Heck even Starbucks’ is green. Please stop scamming people, no one wants to pay $7 for a cup of milk. A gallon at the store is cheaper. I’m not one to leave reviews so I will delete this in a few months once I come back to confirm the...

My partner is constantly looking for cute coffee shops to work at around the valley. Today we checked out Cara Vana and its a hidden gem. It's North of the main arts district portion of Lankershim. Street parking only, but not hard to find a spot within a block (no meters!). The staff (I believe owners actually) are all very friendly. The food is made in house to order, which I love and was surprised by, as most coffee shops have premade items that they reheat. I had the breakfast sandwich w. bacon- perfect friend egg, delicious cilantro sauce, lots of fresh spinach. The interior and back patio are well designed, cute and comfortable, there is a lot of interior space and exterior space making it a great place to work. And reliable internet! Check out their photos, I don't know that posting my own will add anything that hasn't...

What a cute find by the NoHo Arts District! I love having a day where I just try out different spots in some of my well-trodden upon areas of Los Angeles, such as here in North Hollywood. Cara Vana is such a relaxing and cozy spot to enjoy a latte or tea and have some light bites or treats! I grabbed a seasonally themed drink during my visit - a Caramel Apple Latte (Hot)! The barista had it out in no time at all with the cutest decor on the top of the latte - wonderful service! The flavor was not overpowering but also not too subtle - I absolutely loved the balance! There's plenty of seating inside, including a couch area towards the back. It also has really warm, inviting, cozy-feeling lighting. I really enjoyed the space and the lattes here! It's definitely on my list for future visits, and I highly recommend!

Such a cute coffee shop with great drinks and food. I tried something different which was early grey tea with lavender syrup, but it wasn't for me. I was planning to just buy a completely new drink, but the owner gave me a discount anyway even though it wasn't their fault at all, I just didn't like the tea and lavender syrup taste. They are honestly the kindest people running this shop. People come in with their dogs and the dogs are always happy and excited for a treat from the baristas. You can tell they really care about the customers. If you don't come for the drinks, come for the vibes. And let's be honest, we could all use a bit more kindness in our daily lives. Great vibes in here with ample seating inside and out in the back. I like to come here and get some screenwriting done.

The place has an original and inspiring vibe. The staff is all wonderful and attentive. I love supporting a local business over a chain any day of the week. My disappointment is in the acai bowl. It wasn’t blended well. It tasted very icey. The banana was perfectly ripe and the blueberries were good but the mango was incredibly hard and completely flavorless. If a particular fruit isn’t available in a restaurant quality state, don’t make it a menu option in my opinion. There also wasn’t much granola to the açaí ratio. The chia pudding was good. I might return to try a different food item. I saw they had several vegan options that didn’t use mock meats which I find appealing but if you’re interested in the açaí bowl, I kindly suggest you go somewhere else.
