Mater — Restaurant in Los Angeles

OMG. This is is the best restaurant in LA. My mom who lived in Italy for a time says it's "the best Italian food in the USA." I agree. It reminds me of home-cooked meals at friends I've dined with in Italy. So so delicious. Beyoncé could eat here. Some Italians were dining next to us and told us we'd love it before we even tasted the food. They were right!

Beyond that, the service is wonderful. 100% authentic Italian. This restaurant opened this year and it is a hidden gem. I am telling everyone about it because I'd love for it to stay in this neighborhood. Hoping this place will have lines around the block soon.

We got several courses and they were all delicious. Pork belly was my favorite. Chicken Milanese was my second favorite. Good portions.

Mater is a fantastic new addition to the dining scene. The ambiance is warm and effortlessly chic, perfectly capturing a Mediterranean vibe that’s both inviting and modern. The menu is thoughtfully curated, with each dish offering a fresh and delicious taste of Italy. I tried the Rigatoni Bolognese and the Mediterranean Mater Burger, and both were bursting with flavor—absolutely top-notch! For breakfast Frittata Spagnola is a must try!

The service was impeccable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about the food. They made us feel at home, which really added to the experience. I really enjoyed visiting Mater. The attention to detail and the flavors of the food was amazing. I tried the Kurobuta pork, gnocchi fritti, Cesar salad and a cappuccino.

I’m still thinking about that pork! It was so well seasoned and the purple potato matched so well.

The gnocchi fritti was such a lovely surprise as I’ve never had anything like this before. It was FANTASTIC.

I was scraping the plate of the Cesar salad, that dressing is out of this world.

The quality of the coffee was chefs kiss. I cannot wait to come back and try more.
