limited metered parking in the front and restaurant parking in the back. We parked in the back and we were greeted with a water fountain and covered outdoor seating, we took the stairs with wrought iron railing and walked into a hacienda theme style decor with Spanish style flooring recess lighting and skylight. Loved the ambience. We had a huge party and they gladly accommodated us. We were served with complimentary black and Brown chips that tasted fresh and warm, they came with two salsas, traditional restaurant style and another red salsa that had a kick. Ordered a Pacifico Michelada, which was tasty and for dinner I ordered the Mojara a La Diabla: Not on the menu however a quick check with the cook and they were able to accommodate. Unfortunately It was the last dish to be served, The fish was delicious and the Diabla sauce was bomb! It came with a fluffy and delicious cup of rice and a little saucer of beans and cheese that were delicious, and homemade corn tortillas were soft, hot and so tasty that I used them to dip the Diabla sauce till all of it was all gone. The wife had the Steak and chicken fajitas they were absolutely delicious. My brother in law ordered a Ceviche de Camaron, the presentation was on point however it was NOT fresh. The few shrimp that was included was frozen and the entire dish looked dry, had no flavor and it had tons of tomato. We sent it back and they took it off our bill. Our table service was ok, our waiter could have used an extra hand to ensure everyone always had some kind of refreshment, at least water. He forgot one of our to-go orders that was placed when we were originally ordering. Overall it was a good experience. We appreciated the accomodations. And the phone calls to confirm our reservations....
Read moreMy Husband is planning a Birthday dinner for me for later this week. (45-50 guests) I found this place on Facebook and decided to make the 45min drive over. After circling the block 3xs I finally found a spot. Once in the building we waited at the podium for 3-5mins before the bus boy/man (cleaning tables) stopped to acknowledge that we were standing there. There was a baby shower group there which had between 5-7 staff members tending to them (I understand as a business owner myself... bigger party, bigger check. I get it, but "HELLO". Finally a young lady comes over to tell us it would be another 5mins before we would be seated (party of 2). Once seated she took our drink order and provided us with chips and salsa then we waited and waited and waited for about 20-25mins as other patrons came in placed their drink orders, received chips and salsa, placed their food order finally a waiter showed up to take our food order, then back to waiting again while the other guests started to receive their food...........finally I had enough of waiting and decided to take my business elsewhere! I lefted money on the table for the drinks and chips/salsa. As we walked out the Manager asked "if we enjoyed our food" I responded by saying "we never received it and that we were over waiting" his response was "Sorry" (no "let me see what I can do", just a simple "Sorry". We ordered 2 burritos.
The building was nice, the painted walls were absolutely beautiful, the pictures of food on Facebook and in the menus looked delicious, would have loved to try it seeing that they have some pretty good reviews. Not much for parking or...
Read moreI came here on the recommendation of one of my Mexican friends who kind of raved about the place.
The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is small and quaint, and it has a nice modern feel to it. Service staff was friendly enough, but they assumed that I spoke Spanish, which I don't, and it should have been evident even though she attempted three or four times.
I ordered the chicken quesadillas mole and asked if it came with any cheese. It didn't, so I asked for it to be added. The cheese never made it. I also ordered a soft chicken taco on the side.
Food quality starting with the chips and salsa wasn't that great. The salsa was lacking flavor, and the chips were overdone. The taco was super bland and only came with chicken and the shell, nothing else. The quesadillas were bland as well. They used dark meat, and I had some pieces of gristle or chicken bone still in mine. The mole sauce was very overpowering as a whole, like it had too much cumin or other spice that threw it off.
Even the sides were bland, the refried beans didn't seem like they were even refried, they were watery and still had whole beans in them, and the rice had good texture but lacked any flavor.
Overall, I was very disappointed with this place as I definitely would not come here again. The street that it's on has about a dozen restaurants, so maybe I'll give one of...
