Let me preface this review by saying I’m - and especially my partner who I visited here with - are pretty particular (aka; snobby) when it comes to tea. Especially when the label “cream tea” is attached to it I automatically compare it to my favourite tea rooms in Devon. My partner makes his own amazing scones and clotted cream and drinks a cup of tea on average four times a day. We’re extra ‘bout tea! Chado itself is adorable inside and a lovely way to escape off the hectic streets of Hollywood. There’s a whole wall full of quirky teapots! We were also introduced to the insanely expansive textbook-sized menu of teas which (who I assume was) the owner kindly started walking us through. He definitely knows his stuff that’s for sure! We wanted a pot of black tea and decided to give their namesake Chado breakfast blend a go. We also each ordered a plain scone with cream which the owner described as a light and airy whip and not sour like clotted cream (since when is clotted cream sour?) Our Chado breakfast was served in a cute elephant teapot with a little cat on top, the taste of the tea was a touch mild for our taste (we wanted something punchy so probably should’ve just gone with an Assam) or maybe it could’ve just done with a minute more brewing time. The texture of the scones was off because the dough was definitely overworked which I can’t necessarily fault Chado for since they get them delivered in. Maybe we got a bad batch? Taste wise scones were perfectly fine but really needed the cream because it would’ve been too dry on its own. Overall I would say we enjoyed our time at Chado not because it was a particularly authentic or truly delicious cream tea but instead for the calm ambiance of the place, a brief escape from Hollywood, and for the kindness of the people that...

From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the romantic and charming decor—it felt like stepping into a timeless, elegant escape from the busy city outside. The soft lighting, delicate details, and beautifully arranged tables created the perfect ambiance for a relaxing and intimate tea experience.

I ordered their breakfast tea, and it was absolutely delightful—rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. It paired wonderfully with the fresh scones, finger sandwiches, and pastries. For anyone visiting, I highly recommend the full tea service. It’s the best way to experience everything Chado has to offer, from their wide selection of flavorful teas to their delicious, beautifully presented treats. The combination of savory and sweet items creates the perfect balance, making it ideal for a leisurely brunch or a special occasion.

What really made the visit memorable was the romantic atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot for a date, a bridal shower, or even a quiet morning with friends. The attention to detail in the decor—from the floral centerpieces to the vintage teapots—sets a dreamy and elegant tone that makes you want to linger and savor every moment.

The service was outstanding—attentive, warm, and welcoming. The staff was also very knowledgeable about their teas and happy to make recommendations to enhance the experience.

If you’re looking for a romantic and charming tea experience, especially for a delightful full tea service, Chado Tea Room at Ovation Mall is an absolute must-visit. I can’t...

Quaint restaurant serving formal high tea. Reservations are usually required as the restaurant only has about 8-10 tables. We celebrated a friends birthday and they were kind to offer a free dessert for her. Scones, sandwiches and sweet treats are served along with a pot of tea. I purchased a groupon making it much more affordable than normal. Parking is validated. I recommend it if you can get a good deal and have good friends to bring along. Expect to get really full. The teas were amazing and we enjoyed learning a lot about how and where selections are grown. This is a two hour block as the menu is over 60 pages. Enjoy and don't forget to make a reservation. Most promotions don't allow Saturday reservations so be sure to call at least a day or two ahead. Service is okay... food is okay... the teas...
