UPDATE: Since I left the review below, the owner responded with a link for the customer service team to "follow up" with me. Just out of curiosity, I click on the link and it's just a generic "contact us" form. Requires me to write name, telephone number, FULL ADDRESS and a message.
How clueless is the owner? I already left you my message in my 2 star review and now you send me a link to a generic "contact us" form.
Free lesson for the owner: the link should say "Please leave telephone number so we can call you and email address to send you $20 voucher for your poor experience and for taking the time to inform us."
Seems clear to me that the owner just leaves the link as a response to poor reviews as a dog and pony show for others who may be reading them. Only being this annoyed could get me to take the time to leave a review and then update it.
Downgrading my review from 2 stars to 1 star. ........
Ate here yesterday evening with my buddy. I've been to other locations several times but this was my first time at Westwood location. Yesterday was my first non-positive experience at a Corner bakery. Ordered half pesto chicken sandwich and tomato soup. I've gotten this combo dozens of times over the years at other locations and was very much looking forward to it. Chicken pesto sandwich tasted merely acceptable (at least it wasn't completely inedible), and had very little flavor. The soup was completely different from what I had remembered. Had no flavor, no pop. Felt like something I'd get from a canned grocery store soup or worse. Even the pickles sucked. It felt like the management has just given up on the location. Sadly, the "best" part of the meal was the potato chips. Also, when I was ordering, I step to the cashier and ask the guy "how are you?" His response: "Good" then gives me blank stare. After a few seconds of silence, I figured that's his way of asking for my order so I ordered. I give 2/5 stars because I reserve 1/5 stars for completely inedible. I definitely won't be coming...
Read moreThis place isn't located on the corner, nor does the baked goods entice me, BUT they do serve up an amazing breakfast. Luckily this location offers pancakes as a breakfast item, a treat not yet available at all Corner Bakery locations. And boy oh boy are they tasty! I LOVE getting the pancake breakfast with scrambled eggs and chicken apple sausage.
The pancakes- CB really gives you the dream pancake. Not too fluffy (where its more dough than flavor) yet they aren't too thin. It soaks up the syrup at just the right level that you won't even think twice about the small container in which the syrup is served. Also at 5 cakes a stack you are guaranteed to feel full after this hearty meal. Please add butter at your own risk, which adds another level of delectableness that you may not be able to resist.
The Chicken Apple Sausage- This bad boy will raise your meal but .30cent but will bring you so much joy that it's worth the splurge. I've tasted quite a few chicken sausages in my life but this one takes the cake. CB captures both the savory-ness of the chicken with the sweetness of in apple in this yummy patty a feat far less accomplished.
The eggs- Are just eggs... scrambled... fluffy and could be excluded if you are looking to save a buck.
Overall tasty breakfast! Can't really go wrong at lunch either.
Service here is always fantastic as well. Orders are taken with precision and everyone is...
Read moreDelicious Chicken Pesto sandwich, filling enough for a meal and a snack for later! I love that they are allowing us to choose salad now instead of just the chips. Most of the workers are friendly, and I usually get my food to-go.
Today while I was waiting for them to prepare the food, I let them know I was going to run over to the Amazon store to pick something up, which I often do when I'm here and it seemed to be okay. When I came back in, I asked a lady if she could check if the to-go bag beside the counter was mine and I showed her my receipt, which is a very simple task that she just refused to do. She looked at my receipt, asked me if I ordered what was on the receipt and wouldn't check the bag that was RIGHT THERE when I told her I thought it could be mine. Instead, she just kept giving me this awful, sarcastic smile and asked me why I didn't know what I ordered. I was never asking what I ordered, I was simply asking if the bag was mine. She was of no help, and she called the manager over and told him I didn't know what I ordered. I think she must be illiterate or she must hate her job. I don't even care to wait, I wasn't in a rush at all. The attitude was unnecessary.
Either way, the bag was mine, the sandwich was delicious, but unfortunately this place left a bad taste...
