This place is hit or miss for me. I’ve had Ono many times. Sometimes the chicken is good, sometimes dry and other times poorly cut/ breaded and lots of fat left on (which I usually don’t mind but sometimes it’s too much). I think the island fire chicken might be the best thing to get here. The Katsu was my usual go to but my last order just wasn’t the standard I’m used to. I’m only being this critical because I’ve had a lot of Hawaiian food before and never really been disappointed until I started coming here. It’s not always disappointing, and the price and portion size is worth the money, but it’s inconsistent and I feel it’s necessary to warn you! Hopefully you get Ono on a good day!

Food is generally good but the thing that is terrible about this location is that they charge $0.55 plus tax for a refill even if you dine inside their Lobby! I haven't been to any other ono hawaiian bbq place that charges for a refill except this one. Sometimes this location can get very busy and the wait times for the food can be upwards of 20 or more minutes. All Things Considered, I hate coming to this one but because I work at a job where I'm driving around the city, sometimes I have to stop wherever is close to eat. I hope I don't have to eat here again because it's so frustrating.

I love catering with them. Good food, good portions, good price, good service. The only bad thing is the way the landlord allows the building and public areas to be so dirty and in disrepair. Its not this establishments fault, so don't judge the food and service with its exterior appearance. If the same food was served at a fancier restaurant in a nice setting with a mai tai and bar, table service and outdoor patio, it could charge 50-100% more. Hopefully the landlord will read this and improve its property.

Placed a to-go order and checked on it after 20min.: nope nothing. After another 25min., we check on it again only for this absent-minded cashier to yell to the kitchen that the order ticket was actually lost, but then she turns around to say straight to our faces: "It's busy, whatchu wanna do". No compensation or apology; nothing. BTW that big lady cashier is rude af to everyone who walks in. She instantly creates a shtty atmosphere with her shtty attitude. After a literal hour of waiting with empty promises of "It's almost ready" like 3 separate times, we finally got our food. And it was SO mid. Telling everyone to avoid this ridiculousness and walk right past this awful place. 2/5 on the food. -1/5 on...

Saw this on Google maps when I was searching for lunch options nearby, and was reminded of L&L (I miss L&L!).

Got the island fire chicken (I think it was called). Very cumin heavy, and not particularly spicy. Spicier than other items they sell, I'm sure, but still.. I was expecting more fire in that chicken. Was a little disappointed. The chicken was also kinda rubbery. The item is supposed to be 600 calories, but I really don't buy that. Gonna guess it's closer to 1000 or more.

On the plus side though, they give a lot of food. I asked for more vegetables instead of the Mac salad, and they probably gave me like half of an entire...
