This review is strictly based on my customer service experience.
This evening at about 7:00pm, I took a quick trip for some sweet bread.
My total purchase was $9.00. I proceeded to give my debit card to the cashier.
She attempted to complete my transaction but was unable due to the internet not working.
I was embarrassed already and informed her that I only had $7.00 in cash.
I told her I would call my husband so that he could drive from our home to pay my enormous debt of $2.00.
I very much understand that giving free bread is not a good business practice but since the issue was that the internet was down.
I felt she could have allowed me to take my bread & come back and pay the balance within 20min with an added generous tip.
While I was waiting a new customer came in and also experienced an issue paying and was short $3.00.
I could see he was also embarrassed not having enough cash so I offered him the little cash I had.
I believe that at this point the cashier could have stepped up and made an executive decision and put the customer (ME) first before her $2.00 deficit.
Had your cashier showed some empathy I would have no reason to write this review.
My patronage has been loyal for over 20yrs so this incident is very...
Read moreI want share my point of view ti the lady who made such an unconsidered review first for most you should know the community who the operate many small business mama and papa just donât make a lot profit to afford a better internet system but as an outsider not living the community you show be prepared to pay cash in case your card doesnât function properly. You also need to understand a regular employee canât give you freebies as small as they are , it doesnât matter no employee is going to put their Jon on the line for a piece of bread just to be nice to you. Besides the employees here donât know you are a stranger an outsider, if they knew you , they could give you credit an have confidence that you do pay but when you are just walking in from the outside then it becomes questionable as far as your integrity is concern you might be at home an say is just a bread im not going to drive back to pay the $2âŠAlso if you really want to fix the situation there is a chase bank about 800 yards away and a WellFargo ATM machine so honesty you have no excuse sorry, going back 20 minutes to your house is too far it would had made more sense to go to the...
Read moreUpdated based on owner reply: I can only go by what I saw. I'm so glad you take so many precautions. Perhaps staff needs the reminder when you're not present. During Covid, they're doing not much for social distancing, people just keep going in. There's no tape outside or signs on the door that ask people to wait. I've tried going a couple of times but see the crowd inside and leave. I have ordered thru Postmates.
Been here a bunch of times, it's convenient. I don't know why, maybe it's traditional, but they put aniseed in a lot of their breads, including las conchas. And they do it for a lot of breads. I think it's aniseed, it's strong. I mostly order cookies and pound cake that I know won't have that aniseed flavor. I didn't grow up eating Mexican pan dulce so maybe just me. . The mini cookies used to be 3/$1. Now they're like 3 for $1.25 or 1.50, can't remember. The price raise was...
