I wish I could say better about the place, but unless you are using the drive thru or live nearby you should avoid the place. The is NO indoor dining and the outdoor tables were removed sometime ago. The only way to eat there is to stand along the narrow metal table that runs along the front of the building. The Mexican style food is still excellent though. I used to frequent a location with indoor and outdoor seating in the city of Downey before it closed. Unfortunately this location does not give free chips along with the combination plates like the Downey location used to, you have to buy them separately. I also wanted an Orange Bang drink with my meal so I had to buy the items I wanted a la Carte because they don't have a drink upgrade on their compter. A very negative experience for me. I won't be going back. 😔👎

I ordered flautas with rice and beans. I get home and here I am fishing for my flautas in the beans. The flautas are under cook and cover in what they call guacamole. It was gross. I wonder how they stay in business. Avoid this place at all cost. There are better options closer by

My pork burrito was really tasty. The lady that took my order was very friendly and I'll definitely be back to try the taquitos.

I absolutely love this authentic little kitchen's food. I've been eating here since the early eighties, and I only wish I'd known how good it was sooner...(The only reason I didn't know, is because, there was still La Conga then, and nothing else in the mexican food category was needed.) Anyone who remembers La Conga will doubtless agree.(And still sheds a tear in sorrow at it's loss, it was that good... ) Since it's loss, only four restaurants I know of are good enough to eat, and two of them I haven't tried in years, because El Taco is so close, and so good, I've not needed to bother.(The others are;The Jolly Burrito, Piñas, and La Chispa,) If they're all still cooking, post-Covid, I'm not even sure,🤞. El Taco, is, still cooking, we ate there day before yesterday, and it was really good. I'm making myself drool thinking of it.(I hope I'm not raising expectations so high that you'll be disappointed with the food, thatd be a shame.) The Green, and red-chile quesadillas are my favorite thing, second are the cheese enchiladas (with onions), and I don't know if they still do them, but, the rellenos are very good also. The rice is always good, and their Fries, though not Mexican, are better than McD's, and Jack combined. They make fresh salsa,(which you need to ask for.) that is as good as any I've had, and complements their food well. Aaaarrrgggghh!!!! I'm dying of hunger now!!! It's 5:30 am, so I'll have to wait two and a half hours to get anything from them! If you love Mexican food, and who doesn't? Try El Taco soon. You'll be happy you did. (Make sure you check that all you ordered is there, they get busy, and sometimes miss an...

I went thru the drive-thru, had not eaten since a bowl of cereal, so I was really hungry at 5ish. Ordered their sloppy joe (ground beef, lettuce tomatoes, cheese, thousand island), which was like I remembered, not from here, but from Pup n Taco, in the 70’s. It was actually good. I also ordered 2 ground beef tacos. I begin asking myself, what kind of beef is this?? Not the norm, reminds me of a soy product. Was disappointed, but didn’t take them back to complain, because when I didn’t like their lemonade and asked them to replace it with Jamaica, she acted as though she could not replace my drink. I think her issue was about the cost of the cups, and told me she would do it only to put the drink in the same cup. I won’t be going back to El Rey...
