I discovered Heyday Elite CrossFit after needing a new gym when I got sent home from my old one for being a minute late. I'd been faithful to them for two years, showing up daily in the same spot. But feeling like just a number and worthless when they sent me packing for being tardy messed with my head, so I had to move on. I couldn't support it. It was tough saying goodbye to my gym and gym buddies of over two years.
For 30 days straight, I went gym challenge trying to find a new home, but struck out at so many places and couldn't find the right fit. Then, on the 30th day, I stumbled upon Heyday Elite CrossFit. They offered a 7-day trial, which no one else did. When I walked in, I was greeted right away. I liked that the gym was clean, had showers, and provided spray to clean the equipment. Everyone wiped down their gear, which was important to me.
The people who work out there are fantastic, and the vibe is welcoming, with families and kids welcome too. I love seeing kids hanging from the equipment and giving high fives as they come in. The gym is affordable, and payments are easy to make.
It's great to see the strong moms and the guys without shirts. Everyone feeds off each other's energy and pushes each other to keep pushing. My proudest moment was doing one toes-to-bar on my one-year anniversary. It took me the whole year, but I was so so so proud in that moment, I couldn't believe it. Call shocked myself. 𤪠I hit another PR last week when did a clean and jerk at a 110 pounds. Again another moment where I surprised myself it just happened. I couldn't explain it it just happened. đ¤Ł
On my one-year gym anniversary, I surprised the owner with balloons to celebrate because, let's face it, I'm probably the goofiest one there! But jokes aside, the coaches at Heyday Elite CrossFit are absolutely amazing. They break down exercises in a way that's easy to understand, and they always find a way to make workouts enjoyable. Whether it's through a fun warm-up game or trying out new and challenging movements, every session is different and exciting. Unlike typical CrossFit gyms, Heyday Elite offers a variety of unique exercises that keep things interesting. It's always a thrill to walk in and see what's on the whiteboard for the day!
What's really cool is that if you miss a few days, the owner will give you a call to check in. It shows that you're not just a number here, you're a person and you matter. The workouts are tough, and even after a year, my body still aches, but I've learned new things and every day is something different.
Heyday Elite CrossFit is all about hard work, family, and feeling welcome without judgment. I've found my fit family here, and I'm never...
Read moreI've been a member of Heyday for about 15 years, and it has truly transformed my fitness journey. The coaches here are phenomenal motivators, always pushing me to do my best and providing the perfect cues to improve my technique or get through a tough challenge. The external accountability they provide has been key for meâjust knowing that theyâll check in if I miss a couple of weeks is incredibly encouraging.
One of the best aspects of Heyday is how easy they make it to work out. The only decision I need to make is to walk through the door; from there, they guide me through everything. Each session is just an hour, including a 15-20 minute warmup, making it a manageable and efficient part of my day.
The social environment at Heyday is fantastic. Everyone is incredibly supportive, cheering on even the slowest participants (often me, especially when endurance is involved). The sense of community and encouragement is unmatched.
I used to think that 24-hour gyms would work for me since I could go anytime, but in reality, I rarely went. The scheduled sessions at Heyday are a precious commodityâyou have to show up, or you miss out. This structure has been crucial in keeping me consistent with my workouts.
For those interested in private coaching or a combination of private and group sessions, Heyday is absolutely the right place. The personalized attention and tailored approach to fitness make it an exceptional experience.
I can't recommend Heyday enough. If you're looking for a gym where the coaches genuinely care, the community is supportive, and the structure keeps you accountable, this is the...
Read moreIs there such a thing as a perfect gym? I don't think I ever considered this before. I've been to a few decent ones over the years, but I never stuck around for long. I've always liked group classes, but I tend to get bored with them after a while and I usually reach a plateau that turns into a big factor in whether or not I'm motivated to continue going. I've never done CrossFit before at all and I've only dabbled in lifting weights here and there. Both have been intimidating as someone with no training or experience with it, especially as a woman. I figured those things just weren't for me. I came in extremely skeptical to say the least. Let me just say that I fell in love with this gym almost immediately. I've been going consistently over the past 6 months and I've seen progress in my fitness that I've never seen before. Cardio, strength and flexibility are at the highest they've been maybe ever. I'm in my mid 30s and if you told me 6 months ago that I could do the things I'm doing now, I would not believe it. My muscle mass, endurance and stamina have all increased. Every single workout is different. The programming is thoughtful and fun. The trainers are all incredibly kind and patient. They manage to provide individual attention in every class and keep track of your progress to guide you through your journey. I've made a lot of new friends there as well. As an introvert, this is the last thing I expected. It's a special place and I look forward to...
