I recently dined at Flavor of India Hollywood, a delightful family-owned restaurant that truly brings the authentic flavors of India to Hollywood. The warm, inviting atmosphere and elegant decor immediately made me feel welcome.

Highlights of My Meal:

• Chicken Tikka Masala: This was the star of the meal. The chicken was incredibly tender, and the creamy tomato sauce was bursting with rich, spicy flavors. It was absolutely delicious. • Mirchi Tikka: If you enjoy a bit of heat, you’ll love this dish. The spicy grilled chicken had a perfect balance of flavor and spice, making it a standout. • Shahi Paneer: As a vegetarian option, the Shahi Paneer was outstanding. The paneer cubes were cooked to perfection in a rich, creamy gravy that was both indulgent and satisfying. • Masala Cheese Fries: This unique fusion dish was a pleasant surprise. The crispy fries topped with masala spices and melted cheese were an excellent appetizer and a fun twist on traditional Indian flavors.

Before the food had even arrived my company and I decided this would be our new go to. We were seated and greeted immediately.

The prices were fair and the portions on each thali generous. The food itself was amazing. I’ve tried a lot of sub-par watered down Indian food in LA- some places where the curries all seem to have the same blend of burnt or mismatched spice bases.

Here the food was well made, each having a distinct flavor profile and also not laden with grease.

The dessert was Kheer- a recipe of the owner’s mother, and a testament to the care taken in preparation. Most places have stale desserts and watered rice pudding as an after thought. This Kheer, complimentary from Sam, was the best I’ve had in years. It was prepared low and slow, stewed till the milk had turned thick and sweet. Even the masala chai served was prepared fresh to order.

Sam, the owner, had personally taken care of us. He was very involved in every patrons experience and also stopped by to engage with us, it was lovely getting to know about his family’s legacy and dining at his establishment.
