You know the Culver City / Palms area is growing when a top ramen shop like Hinodeya is making moves here! Hinodeya just opened about 3 weeks ago, and it's slowly but surely building up its following in SoCal.
Tonight, I decided to swing by Hinodeya for a quick bite, as I was itching for ramen. It's nestled in the same plaza as CVS and Trader Joe's, which can be a dangerous temptation. I was quickly seated when I got there, and the ordering process was a breeze. I simply scanned the QR code on the table, paid via phone, and my ramen was at my table in less than 10 minutes. Yup, it was that fast!
I opted for the Spicy Miso tonight, a timeless classic, and it wasn't bad! The noodles were slightly overcooked and unfortunately arrived soggy at my table. Additionally, the egg could have been better presented too, which is a small nit on my end. I've had my fair share of Hinodeya in the Bay, so I was hoping for the same level of quality, which this place was just shy of. I expect these imperfections will go away as they continue to perfect the kitchen.
The real star of tonight was the chashu. Hinodeya knows how to do chashu well. It was tender, juicy, and incredibly delicious. Each bite was pure perfection.
Plus, the waiter working tonight was awesome! He was attentive, personable, and charismatic while working multiple tables. Miraculously, he was able to handle it! I know they're also actively hiring a server, which will help out a ton.
Overall, I think Hinodeya is going to do just fine, and it'll be a matter of a few short months before this place begins to get a waitlist! If you're in the mood for a quick hot bowl of ramen and/or are looking for a cozy spot to catch up with friends, I suggest checking out this new ramen shop. You'll like it!

Read moreI used to be a regular here but yesterday (Sunday night) was my last visit. The food is good but it has been going downhill and so has the service.
First of all, our server, who said her name was Mimi, was completely inattentive, she kept spending over 15 minutes at individual tables while my table and others obviously needed help. She also kept fighting with the boy who was prepping the food, it was very unprofessional.
Second, the regular soup is good but they keep completely changing the menu every month and they removed some of their better offerings like the curry and rice bowls.
Third, they have this drum gimmick which was cute at first but again, they changed it and every time they hit the new one it was super high pitched and it was less charming and more annoying.
Lastly, and most importantly, I used to really like this place so I brought some friends to try it and basically embarrassed myself in doing so. It really shines when its not busy but not the kind of place I'd bring company or eat at on a busy...
Read moreThis is my first time writing a review because I usually don’t take the time to post, but my experience at Hinodeya Ramen Palms truly deserved it. The food was really fantastic, the ramen was flavorful, comforting, and so well made. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a good meal. But what really inspired me to write this review was the amazing service from our server, K. From the moment we arrived, K made us feel comfortable with their kindness and attentiveness. He explained really well the menu with such patience, gave great recommendations, and checked in at just the right times. It felt like they genuinely cared about making sure we had the best experience possible. K’s positive energy and professionalism made a huge difference. Because of him, this meal felt extra special, and I know I’ll definitely be coming back again. Thank you, Hinodeya Ramen Palms, and especially thank you to K, for making my first visit...
