Tried once for delivery, once live. The delivery guy forgot one of our items, but it was their first couple weeks open so we forgive a logistical mistake (we never did get a promised credit, however). Live, the service was fantastic, very friendly, professional, and a cut above normal Indian joints. Decor is very good, new, clean. No liquor license yet, but they did not complain when we asked them to open a bottle we brought.
Naan and paratha were both excellent. Tandoori lamb chops got good reviews at my table (I'm vegetarian). Vegetable curries are a bit on the bland side, and the saag tasted like canned spinach. There was a richness missing. We ended up just adding salt to all the dishes and that helped a lot. Also, we asked for spicy, and the server, seeing I was Indian, promised "home style" spicing, but we ended up asking for green chilies.
Prices are about average, $8-$10 for a vegetable dish. Very extensive menu, including some good fixed meal deals and a lunch buffet.
Our consensus was that the good was "ok" but not outstanding. But it is local and friendly, so we will likely give them another try in a couple of months to see if they've improved the food. We were there on a Sunday, so it is possible the kitchen wasn't working with the normal cooks. I think they have one in Torrance, and the food there is about the same (it isn't the place I would pick in the South Bay).
If you live nearby, worth a try, especially for lunch or a quick delivery but not worth a special trip. We're hoping it improves so we have another option in the neighborhood and because the service was so...

Came for the lunch buffet and that was my third time going and I've always enjoyed it- the food was great, the dishes were constantly being replenished, great friendly workers.
However this time, there was a somewhat stern lady working, and didn't seem like she was having a great time.
It seemed like she kept rushing us to leave even though we were still getting more plates to leave, so during one of our rounds while we were eating, she gave us the bill and literally was like, "card please, please put your card."
Um.. ok. Maybe it was a language barrier, so it's fine, we paid since maybe they were just closing out the shift or something.
Then as I was still eating, I had a few spoonfuls left in my plate and a samosa when she came up to us and said, "We have another table waiting, yeah." And basically motioning for us to leave.
And that's when we were just like oh ok, sure we'll go. She kept on saying again and again, "sorry, love you" and "see you tomorrow", and kept repeating all that since I'm sure she kind of felt weird about making us leave, but still- so, so inappropriate.
If we're just sitting there talking and not eating, sure- definitely get that if we're taking up time from other diners.
But I was actually still finishing my food LOL and we were basically motioned to leave.
That's ok though- "see you tomorrow"? Haha...
Read moreSome scattered notes: For the location, there is nothing better around unless you go to Artesia The owner has always been extremely friendly and welcoming. My favorite mains are paneer tikka masala, navtratan korma, bengan barta, and the daal is bbbbomber. The Vegetarian for two meal is also bang-on... and I'm not even vegetarian. In fact, I love good vegetarian Indian food so much, I don't even bother with meat. This is the epitome of vegetarian. Vegetarian Indian is the only food that sends energy coursing through my body EVERY time I eat it. Ayurvedic steroids, get pumped bro. (arm flex) Their mango pickle, I believe, is house made. Certainly tastes like it from my experience. Bomber. I've had a huge variety of Indian in the Bay Area (Indian girlfriend for 3 years) and some locally in LA/Artesia, while I haven't tried everything on the menu here, the food has been consistent over the few years I've been coming here. No food poisoning or poor mishaps beyond a few waiters that seemed new/inexperienced. I usually order take-out. One time they missed me and left due to error on my side. They came back out within 15 min regardless. They have forgotten my mango pickle twice on take-out. It's a small thing, but it's also the magic that transforms my food into godliness. Did I mention I like mango pickle? Don't talk...
