If you’re looking for a stay that combines comfort, convenience, and exceptional customer service, the Courtyard Marriott in Culver City is the perfect choice. From the moment I walked in, the front desk team made me feel like a priority. Special shout-outs go to Jerome, Dustin, Tiana, and Grace—each of them played a key role in making my stay memorable, and together they created an experience that went far beyond expectations.||||Jerome was an absolute standout at check-in. His warm smile and genuine hospitality instantly put me at ease. He not only ensured that my room met my needs but also took the time to answer every question with patience and care. His attentiveness and professionalism set the tone for the rest of my stay. Jerome made me feel like more than just a guest—he made me feel truly valued.||||When I had a request later on, Dustin stepped in with outstanding service. He handled everything promptly, but what impressed me most was his attentiveness to detail. He made sure the request wasn’t just completed, but completed perfectly. By the time I returned to my room, everything had already been thoughtfully arranged, which allowed me to fully relax. Dustin’s calm, reassuring presence and willingness to go above and beyond gave me a real sense of comfort and confidence that any need would be taken care of.||||Tiana brought a vibrant energy to the front desk each time I saw her. Her warm greetings and upbeat personality always lifted my mood, whether I was heading out for the day or returning after a long one. Tiana has a gift for making every interaction personal and genuine—she wasn’t just helpful, she was memorable in the best way. Her positivity and friendliness added a special touch to the entire experience.||||Grace also deserves recognition. She manages the night shift with grace (no pun intended) and professionalism, always ready to help no matter the hour. Whether it was answering questions or assisting with late-night needs, she consistently provided service that was efficient, kind, and approachable. She made those late evenings feel just as cared for as the daytime.||||Beyond the staff, the hotel itself is a winner. The location is ideal, with a shopping mall right next door and easy access to Los Angeles’ key attractions. The rooms were spotless, well-maintained, and comfortable. Even on the freeway-facing side, I found the noise minimal unless I cracked the window, which only opens a few inches—perfect for fresh air without disruption.||||The only thing to note is that this Courtyard doesn’t include a complimentary breakfast like some others, but honestly, the quality of service from the staff more than makes up for it.||||In summary, the Courtyard Marriott Culver City stands out not just because of its location or amenities, but because of the incredible team—Jerome, Dustin, Tiana, and Grace—who go above and beyond to make guests feel welcomed and cared for. If you’re seeking a stay where you’re treated with genuine kindness and professionalism, this is the place. I’ll definitely...
Read moreThis hotel was the worst Courtyard experience I’ve ever had. I have stayed in hundreds of Marriott properties throughout the world, and have Titanium Bonvoy status- so I know what the Marriott standard, as well as the Courtyard standard is supposed to be. ||Upon check-in, we were given a room on the eighth floor. The entire eighth floor had an intense, permeating chemical smell throughout it. I have asthma, and I felt sick (and went into full asthma mode) after being on the 8th floor for less than 5 minutes. I knew there was no way I would be able to stay on that floor. Anytime you smell such strong chemicals- they are trying to cover something up. We took one peek at the room, which backed to the freeway, (ugh)- and I knew I had to either get another room, or get out of this hotel completely. ||We were then given a room on the 12th floor, which faced the other way- a view of a cemetery and a parking lot. At least it was a green area with trees, and not having a freeway behind you. The room was small, very dated, and dingy. Based on the furnishings and finishes- my guess is it hasn’t been touched since 2009. Courtyard has had at least one, if not two remodels since this tired brown decor. ||Upon opening the bed, there was a long black hair under the sheet. I was so appalled- I wish we could have left right at that moment, but we had to go to a graduation. I immediately called Titanium Marriott Bonvoy customer service and canceled our 2nd night at this property. There was no way I could have or would have stayed 2 nights here. It was bad enough to have to stay one night! ||I wish I could say there were redeeming things about this hotel- but even the elevators were not working properly during our stay, and several repair technicians were making a lot of noise. ||We checked out the pool area on the morning of our checkout- but I was afraid to go in the pool. The pool area has cracked cool decking, and looked to be in need of a good cleaning. Plus that good old freeway sound again… Not a relaxing poolside for their guests. Not a relaxing Experience here in any sense of the word. ||Bottom line, there are a lot better options out there- especially near Marina Del Rey. 100%- I won’t be back to this Courtyard. Be forewarned if you choose...
Read moreHere's my honest-to-goodness review of this place: PROS: (1) Close to key places like the LAX, Westfield Mall and easy access to the 405 (2) More than adequate parking spaces (3) Short walk from the parking to the hotel entrance lobby (4) Clean lobby and restaurant/breakfast area (5) Computer workstations in the lobby with adequate power ports (6) Well-lit lobby with clean and modern-looking furnitures (7) Decent-sized bar for late night relaxation (8) Even though the hotel is close to the 405, the rooms are well (sound) insulated from the busy highway CONS: (1) Stone-faced reception crew - Now, I've been to many hotels and many times you can tell if the smile isn't honest enough but if you are to work on the reception desk, it's always a good practice to smile when you welcome guests. Does not cost anything but is a big reflection of the morale of the folks working in the hotel. (2) Ordinary rooms - nothing exceptional about the room, ordinary bed, ordinary carpeting, ordnary bathroom, etc. (3) Outdated carpeting - The carpets in the room and the hallways are dark, looks dirty (though its not), and outdated and seems to make the room and hallways dark. (4) Room looks dark even with adequate lighting - as mentioned above, this could be because of the carpeting (5) Weird Room layout - big closet seems to block the flat TV and the lighting. The small sofa set is tucked in a narrow space close to the AC and window. (6) Room Reception Area - Inadequate lighting where the coffee machine, fridge and safety lockbox are. This should be well-lit since the whole-body mirror is placed here. (7) Ice Maker - Non-operational on the floor we stayed at and had to go to the next floor, where it was "barely" working. Old ice making machines, very old and bulky. (8) No Room Cleaning During Stay - Thought this was unique to us but saw other reviews where they complained about their room not being cleaned during their stay.
Hope the pros and cons listed above (as well as the pictures attached) will help you decide whether this is a place you'd want to stay at. Will I come back here again? Yes specially if the rates are reasonable. Pretty sure they will continue to improve the place. Will they smile when we come...
