Kickin' Fish and Chicken — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I ordered the 2 piece catfish. A bit salty; however, it was moist & tasty. Was it kicking? No and here's why. Who sells fried catfish without including condiments i.e. hot sauce, ketchup, tartar sauce - something. If it's for purchase, offer it during the ordering process. I watched the girl at the front register make error after error and you guys kept opening up all the to-go orders to make corrections. She tried to give me a 10-piece shrimp! Way too many mistakes at the register. She tried to charge me $30 for a two-piece catfish. Girl at register: "Oh, I thought you wanted two pieces, sorry." Me: "I do want two pieces. The menu states 2-piece catfish $15." If she doesn't know the register nor the menu, train her or have her shadow someone. The atmosphere was lacking in every area. Offering good service begins with staff placed in the right position and everyone seemed scared, nervous, or just lacked experience. I hope you regroup, exhale, and pay for experienced servers. 15 years of experience in a food truck is far different from restuarant experience. The service was kickin' customers out the door with wrong orders. The icing on the cake was the girl at the register included a whole chicken with a guest order while another server shouts "everybody check your order before you give it out. We need another whole chicken!" Omg.. I'm dying with laughter! Give this place a try. For the life of me, I cannot understand why there isn't a line from the inside of this store, down the Blvd! I had the 3 piece chicken with fries, drink, and coleslaw for around TWELVE DOLLARS (close to $14.50, including a tip). Y'all... the chicken was DELICIOUS, well seasoned, skin was GREAT and crispy, fries, EXCELLENT, and even the coleslaw was great. A little on the sweet side, but STILL great.

On top of that, they have an array of EXCELLENT dipping sauces, but I ALWAYS test the integrity of the chicken, first, before sauces. Lbvs! The chicken can stand alone, but their sauces take them over the top! They have like a mango habenero that was my favorite and a sweet heat, that were the top two of the four that I had. I'd put the garlic one at number 3 and the traditional hot sauce one at 4. This place also has deals on certain days that sales their chicken at even LOWER prices than they already are! Even on regular days, you can get a 3 piece leg and thigh for $5.99 and economically speaking, you just can't beat that kind of pricing for the HIGH QUALITY hot and fresh food.

Last, but certainly not least is the EXTRAORDINARY Customer Service! Everyone was SUPER kind, patient, and informative about the menu selections, and recommended the fish and rotisserie chicken, which I now have to come back and try. This was my first visit at this place of business. The food is delicious but the nasty attitude of the lead person servicing was not acceptable.

I questioned the time it was taking to receive an addition (rotisserie chicken) that looked to be done to go and Lady told me "ok other people have ordered $100 + worth of food and you have to wait". I told her my $50 PAID is worth a lot to me. Instead of leading with the fact that there is additional prep time needed when I requested 1 of 3 chickens I saw, she wanted to argue. When I let her know my original online order was suppose to be ready 1:08 and I said nothing about additional 20 mins I saw workers were behind and I was patient. She then began saying they had to cut chicken, warm and prep right for me. This with an apology should have led communication.

I like a few of the food places over there. I travel from South Central LA to medical appointments and to eat. I would love to tell my friends about this place but not want them treated this way. They also forgot my coleslaw!
