I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but what happened to us at Member in LA truly ruined what should have been an amazing night.
We had spent the evening at a concert in LA, having an incredible time, full of energy and good vibes. After the concert, some of our friends mentioned there was a great club nearby called Member. They told us it was worth checking out since we were already in LA — and honestly, since we don’t get out to LA often, we thought, “Why not? Let’s keep the night going.”
We had never even heard of Member before — but trusting our friends’ recommendation, we decided to give it a shot. We were still full of excitement from the concert, dressed nicely, respectful, and genuinely happy, ready to experience something new.
But the second we arrived at Member, the night took a turn we weren’t expecting. Without so much as a friendly greeting, we were coldly told that unless we agreed — right there on the spot — to spend $1000 on a table, we wouldn’t be allowed in. No conversation, no warmth, no chance to even explain we had just come off a great night and wanted to celebrate.
It wasn’t about the money — we had no problem spending if we were treated right. It was the way they made us feel — judged, unwanted, like we didn’t belong there — that hurt the most.
We stood there in shock, feeling like strangers in a place we had made a real effort to come to. After a long drive from Orange County, after an amazing night, after trusting recommendations and coming with good intentions, we were left feeling pathetic and embarrassed, like we weren’t even worthy of being their guests.
That moment completely crushed the energy and happiness we had carried with us. We tried to brush it off, but the truth is, we left feeling small, disrespected, and honestly heartbroken. It’s a feeling that stays with you — a night that was supposed to be special, ruined in a few cold words.
This wasn’t just bad service — it was emotional damage. No customer, no person, should ever be made to feel that way. It’s not about a $1000 table. It’s about human decency, respect, and treating people like they matter.
Member failed us badly, and I would never recommend it to anyone who values dignity, kindness, or even basic hospitality.
Here’s a picture of us from the concert, right before the joy and excitement were completely ruined. We came full of energy and happiness, looking forward to more fun. But Member did everything they could to take that away. It’s hard to put into words how disappointing it was to be treated like we didn’t belong. This was the vibe we came with — and this is what we left with.
I truly hope this review helps others avoid the emotional toll we experienced. No one should ever be made to feel less than human just for showing up and wanting to enjoy a night out. A club is only as good as the respect they show their guests, and Member clearly doesn’t understand that. It’s heartbreaking when a place you trust to treat you well ends up treating you like an inconvenience. Please don’t make the same mistake we did — there are plenty of better spots in LA that know how to treat...

SKETCHIEST place in West Hollywood, I’ve lived in LA my entire life.
First time we went I was very sketched out and so was my friend we had dinner resi on a Sunday and it was EMPTY… an employee stood over our heads about us and told us to leave a five star review and literally wouldn’t leave our side until we did (she actually bribed us with “free shots” for a five star review) we mentioned to her we would leave the review when we left and we were OK we didn’t want the free drinks… she kept insisting and was saying no, but it’ll really help me and my husband works here at the bar too and like random things about her performance reviews… anyway she said it like 20 times. After basically being forced to leave a 5 star review we let her know we don’t want the drinks and she brought them anyway…. PS until you didn’t show her. The review was posted. She wasn’t going to let it go. ^^^ that’s probably how they have “good reviews”
NOW FOR THE REAL STUFF I SAW A VERYYYY LARGE & TALL MAN “security” push a girl backwards with both hands so hard that she was shoved into people, including almost me and my group. They proceeded to kick her out.
I tried to gently tap a lady with one index finger and that same security guard tried to grab my wrist and yelllllll at me “DONT GRAB HER” like as if he did not see how lightly, calmly, slowly I was trying to approach/tap her…delusional….
No space to really dance…but that’s most “clubs” this place isn’t really like a club
P.S. on the “dance floor” it IS ALWAYS WAY TOO HOT
&& the employees ALL SHOVE and shine lights in your eyes and yell constantly (a lot of employees at clubs do but this place is tiny so every where you go there are employees trying to zip by)
Only 3 woman’s bathrooms….
DO NOT ORDER the cucumber app it’s LEGITIMATELY JUST CUCUMBER SKIN no cucumber 🤣🤣🤣
For my fellow music lovers, the music is not bad but that’s not the point. You can find good music in a lot of places.

Read moreFood was good but the service and the staff treated my group horrendously. We felt incredibly rushed, and they treated several of my guests like they were unwelcomed at the door. Tables are way too small for anyone to eat a dinner so best thing to do was order a few appetizers and drinks at a time. Could not order too much because the seats are couches, tables are low, and could not contain enough food and drinks if everyone was to order something. Reservation was for 9 people but there was not enough table space for the group and 2 people sat with no table in front of them. But they kept pressuring us to hurry up and order more because they wanted to kick us out after an hour, even though the website stated a 2 hour reservation. I had to point this out to the host and the waitstaff multiple times. Most places that do this are still a little lax, especially if the patrons are still spending money. Our party of 10 spent $1200 an could have doubled that , but multiple staff members continued to come up to our table to complain that we had 10 people (reservation was for 9 but someone unexpected showed up to say happy birthday). They told one of my guests at the door that she could enter but would not be allowed to sit down with the party and would have to stand at the bar (like what!?!). The security told two guests that rode in on a motorcycle that they should leave their helmets outside (so they could get stolen?!?). How would they be able to ride home if they came back to no helmets? This person also ordered a $200 hookah, the flavor came out wrong, had to wait 15-20 min for it to get fixed, and was only given about 45 min to use it. Our whole party felt targeted, racially profiled, and unwelcomed here even though we had plenty of money to spend. We left and went to another place and had a way...
