(update: I have reported this location to the health department for It’s cockroaches, stained sheets, etc.)
What a wonderful location… for hell.
I stayed at this place and was absolutely appalled. I felt like I walked into a time machine. As soon as I walked into the room, I could tell it had not been updated in 20 years and it hadn’t been cleaned in probably that long too.
The word disgusting does not adequately describe this entire property and that includes the staff that barely speak English. They are Asian and rude, rude, rude, rude.
The cleaning staff invaded our room, even though we had a do not disturb placard on the door knob.
Realizing that they could do this at any time when my partner and I went to go out to dinner, I specifically went into the office and explained to them we’re going to go out to dinner and we’re going to be coming back. We don’t want anyone going into the room.
Boy oh boy you would think I dropped a bomb on Hiroshima. I got yelled at up one side and down the other, told I was always causing trouble.
I had never spoken to this person before in my life. What trouble? Did he somehow obtain access to my high school transcripts?
I leaned in and looked at him and said: “we are going to dinner. Don’t go in my room”.
Wanna guess what happened next?
We went to a wonderful dinner because this is after all right near the strip, and when we returned, not only had they invaded the room, they took all of our victuals and food and drinks and other items and put them all in a big trashcan. it as if we came back right while they were in the middle of turning the room.
I once again went to the management office and said we asked you not to go in the room while we went to dinner, we came back from dinner and all of our things have been moved altered and some things are missing.
I got yelled at again and the guy spoke to me in a broken Asian accent. I don’t know what language I am not a racist, but I can’t understand him, but he threatened to call the police!
The service is actually worse than the rooms and the rooms look like you have entered hell from the 1910s
It stirs me up even bringing up the experience I had at this horrible place. We couldn’t wait to get out of there. We went somewhere else that was twice as much and 1000 times better over on Sunset.
For the life of yourself, your children, your family, and for your sanity do not stay at the Hollywood...
Read moreI'll preface this as I have many of my reviews on hotels/motels.
I travel extensively for work and stay in around 200 hotels a year.
With that said, if my office ever books me here again, I will quit on the spot.
Arrived early and went to speak to the desk agent/manager/owner. Told him we had reservations for that night and asked about the possibility of checking in early (a LOT of hotels are fine with this, providing they have rooms ready. I understand it is a courtesy.) I was told check-in was at 3pm and directed to the sign (you'll see a lot of signs on this property.) I began to read. Check-in was listed as 2pm on the signage. It also said there was a mandatory cash deposit of $20 to turn on the phone. When I was told we couldn't check-in early, I asked if we could stay parked on the lot and was told no, not until we are registered. Despite the lot being empty except for 3 vehicles. Parking is at a premium in the area, but we're in a 24ft Transport ambulance. Making parking anywhere almost impossible. So, we left. At 3pm, we returned. Checked in and paid the deposit. We were then handed a key and a tv remote. I'm guessing that the return of which was also part of the deposit. Upon arriving in the room, I was met with 5 working tv channels. 2 of those being without sound. The rest of the afternoon went by without hassle. I explored the area. I got to buy some souveniers and see lots of great sights in the WoF area.
Upon returning and settling down for the night, my fears were realized. Noise, incessant and mind-numbing noise. Horror movie screams from nearby. Cars honking and squealing tires. Police, EMS, helicopters, dogs barking relentlessly. Walls are so thin, I could hear my neighbors conversation as if I was in the room.
In conclusion, this ranks as my #2 worst hotel in the country. (#1 is a Jameson Inn in Charlotte, NC. I think it's closed/chaged now. But it was the stuff of nightnares.) Had I known about the antics of the evening, I'd have packed up and paid an exorbitant amout more for better accommodations.
Avoid this motel at all costs. Do not say you haven't been warned.
In the morning, I went to the office and returned my keyboard and remote, where I received a refund of the $20 cash deposit I gave the day before.
(Side note. I'm posting this after I leave in the morning to ensure that a bad review isn't used against me as grounds for withholding...
