I was really trying not to be that person and leave a negative review but I had such a bad experience here and it was still bothering me today so I just felt like I should share it.
It was my first time going here and I was excited to try the boba because it had mostly good reviews. It was a bit pricey for boba but I thought it would be worth it.
Well, it took 30 minutes to get my boba and it was the worst milk tea I've ever had. First, I order my drink and the gal working behind the counter was behaving oddly. She was giggling really loudly and looking at her phone then chatting with another girl in the back. A bunch of people order after me and get their drinks really quickly so I'm just patiently waiting. Eventually the other girl comes out from the back and says they are sorry but the other girl spilled the drink. I know it's not true because I've been looking over the whole time and nothing was spilled because nothing was ever made. I let it go and just say it's okay because it's clear to me that the other girl doesn't know what she's doing and likely just forgot to make it. I also am wondering if maybe it's her first day and the other girl is trying to help her out so I don't want to be fussy.
The whole time these two girls are giggling and on their phones. But I wait.
Finally the drink comes out another long while later (30 minutes total). And I say thank you and leave. A couple minutes later when I finally go to take a sip I see that she's given me a straw that's too small for boba. I go back in to get it and I'm like, alright, this isn't a big deal but I get the new straw and leave. To add insult to injury, I take two sips and it's the worst drink I've had in a long time. I had to throw it away. I'm pretty sure the gal made the wrong drink and put boba in it because it tasted like cardamom and sugar with almond milk and was super foamy for some reason. Just awful. None of these things are a big deal separately but all together and then the behavior of the gals behind the counter made me really not want to go back especially after paying $9 with tip for a drink I...
Read moreDecided to stop by on my morning walk to this gem. Looking from the out side it doesn't seem much however once you walk in it is Cute intimate spot with beautiful interior. Love the Sky light shining through the sky window. Perfect spot to get work done, read your favorite book, or have cute first date. Food and drink is delicious topped with perfect presentation. I had their iced lavender matcha latte with honey and espresso Also, cream cheese bagel with smoked salmon topped with capers and everything bagel seasoning. Made perfectly!!!❤️ Latte was refreshing. They use fresh real lavender definitely an A+++. Had me wanting more. Service was top notch the two baristas who unfortunately, I forgot to get their name were so lovely and pleasant to have encounter. As a first time customer not only they made me feel welcome but took the time to answers all my questions and show me some of their different flavor of tea they offer in house. Mostly definitely will I be back not just for the food, drinks, beautiful decor, but also be back for the service. Being that I recently just moved to this city it's definitely hard to find a place with good customer service anymore. Thank you ladies...
Read moreI live in the neighborhood, and I used to have to trek pretty far for good tea and small bites—mostly spending my time in Koreatown places with big menus and traditional snacks. I was really excited when the signs went up for Bohemia Tea Parlor. Luckily, I’ve not been disappointed; and Hollywood is lucky to have this place open and running.
Bohemia keeps a small, smart menu. They have a few off-menu items (like French Press coffee) but spend their time curating a thoughtful and ranging collection of choices. I love their green tea blend, and their chai latte is becoming an especial favorite with a wonderful balance between cream and spice. Their little eats are nice, too. The vegan baklava is really yummy.
I find the space itself weird, a little like a wide hotel hallway. But the exposed brick, hanging plants and sconces, and deep reds/golds and palm patterns make it feel comfortable and a touch chintzy, fitting for a kind of neighborly elegance. The staff are super-helpful and friendly as well.
I really think more people need to come here and make it a...
