My husband and I went to Morton's for a change because of DineLA Restaurant Week. Turned out to be more expensive and not as good as both Flemings and Ruth's Chris, so I doubt we'll go back. We were shown to our table and the hostess put two menus on the table, which turned out to be a cocktail menu and the wine list. No food menu. Our waiter came and asked if we'd chosen wine (!) How do you know what wine you want if you've not yet even seen the menu? I don't drink and my husband always has steak, so in our case it didn't really matter. The selections were absurdly expensive. I didn't look at it myself but I think my husband said he refuses to pay $19 for a GLASS of wine, which must have been the cheapest. So he chose the cheapest bottle ($50) instead. The waiter asked what water we wanted then disappeared. Granted, he didn't know that I don't drink alcohol, but he didn't ask me if I wanted anything. When he returned, I had to ask for the food menu and for a soda. He returned with only the standard food menu then disappeared again. When he returned I had to ask for the Restaurant Week menu which eventually arrived. We made our selections, me off that menu and my husband off the standard menu as he didn't want an appetizer and I don't eat dessert (special menu included appetizer, entree, side and dessert). So I ordered the prosciutto mozzarella wraps, pork chop, garlic green beans and key lime pie for $65. Hubby ordered the New York strip and spinach with button mushrooms. Those together came to around $80. The food The appetizer was delicious. Not really what I had expected and most flavorful. Pork chop was good. Very big and nicely charred on the outside but moist within. I took over half of it home. Garlic green beans didn't seem very garlicky to me. Like at all. Not much flavor to them. NY strip was just okay. Nothing special. Tender, but not amazing flavor. Spinach and 'button' mushrooms were tasty, but the buttons must have come off a giant's coat as they were rather large mushrooms! The key lime was taken home and was nice enough, but nothing special. The first wine selected wasn't available, so he had to choose another. Was nice enough for a $15 bottle, but it cost $50. Overall, service was ok, pleasant wait staff, but what's with the whole 'blood out of a stone' menu thing? In my opinion, you get very much more for your money at both Flemings and Ruth's Chris. In particular, the Tomahawk at Flemings and the Filet at Ruth's. And their wines are much more affordable. And they give you the menu immediately!

Reason for visiting: early Fathers day dinner Date/time of visit: Friday night, ~ 7:00 PM Parking: valet, $8; no validation offered. There's public parking too but when I attempted, the gate was open so didn't get a ticket so I thought it was free. When I entered, gate closed behind and I was stuck with no ticket; had to call for help and took ~5 mins to get out. Was going to go back in but decided to skip all that madness and valet. Not sure how much public parking wouldve been. If you don't have cash for valet, you can also charge it your bill Party size: 7; 2 teens Environment/ambience: was a little loud. We sat near the kitchen so maybe that's why. Bathroom was clean. Pretty crowded; reservations are needed. There's a dress code too; no shorts, slippers, or clothes that smell or give off an odor. Not sure if it's enforced. Service: was great; she came around often and food was cooked as requested, with no issues. All steaks were cooked Medium-Rare. Folded napkin when I stepped away to restroom and came back 😀 Food: had the Prime NY strip (not dry aged), Parmesan Truffle Fries, Old Fashioned, Seafood Tower (lobster tail, Oyster, Tuna), Cream Corn, Lobster Mac N' Cheese, and Creme Brulee. Everything was good. Cost: $1140, including tip. Would I go back (yes/no): 90/10

Great place to celebrate anything memorable. Staff is helpful, and attentive. While we enjoyed our experience, the food was unfortunately lacking for the price. Arguably, the dry aged bone in Filet, my favorite steak at my favorite steakhouse, should be the best steak. It was disappointing, and a bit on the harder side. There was some flavor, but unfortunately the cognac gravy was needed to make it softer and more flavorful. Which I recommend. Their menu does no favors to those who are lactose intolerant. Your only side option may be the brussel sprouts, which were good, but not amazing. And forget about dessert, unless you'd like a bowl of berries. Morton's does have the best wine selection on earth. The thick heavy menu may give that away. While the menu can be overwhelming, waiters are more than helpful to fulfill your palette. One thing to note is that the dress code here is way more laid back than I was expecting. I have zero problem with this, but after reading the strict policy online, I was surprised. It seems like hats, hoodies, and shorts were allowed when we dined. Seems acceptable due to it being attached to an apartment complex. Overall, I'd go back for a date night because of how close this location is, but I'd have to try another steak.

We had a reservation for 6:45. We were told our reservation was for the bar or patio area. We had planned for this to be a nice romantic evening so we didn’t want to sit in the bar or outside area because it was cold out. We told them we would wait for a table. After waiting over 30 mins in the bar area, my husband went up to check on our table. The hostess at the front was a black male, who was initially very off putting towards me, which is why I sent my husband up to check for me. He said he would call his name whenever one was available, he didn’t give him any time frame for reference of how much longer we would be waiting at. Another 20 minutes go by, we were talking about going somewhere else, and after the experience we had here, we definitely should have; I go back up there to check and I spoke to a black woman. It seemed as if she was the manager. She told me she would talk to the male hostess to see if he’s found us a table. It was very apparent that she was actively working to help us be seated. We waited for another 10 mins and were finally seated. Once seated, it took another 10 minutes for our waiter to get to us but we could see they were busy so we didn’t mind. Once the waiter was there, we put in our full order to speed up the process because we had plans to go to an event after. The bread was brought out, 15 mins later the salads we ordered. From that point on it took another 45 mins for us to receive our food. It was very apparent that we had been waiting for a long time because the manager came over twice to make sure we were ok and to let us know that our waiter was very busy with other tables. Finally our food comes out, the steaks were lukewarm so we had them sent back to be reheated. We wanted to eat our steak with our potatoes so we waited until the steaks came back out to eat them. The potatoes weren’t fully cooked. Meaning the were still hard. My husband took the first bite of potatoes and didn’t say anything to me about them to see if I noticed anything wrong with them. I took one bite and immediately grabbed a napkin to spit them out. We told our waiter about the potatoes and he took them away. We then order mashed potatoes instead. After this incident, the manager and the hostess come over to address the steak and potatoes situation. There were no incentives to back this incident. They just took the potatoes off our bill and added the mashed potatoes. At this point it’s close to 8:30 now, we’ve missed our event that we had planned to go to and just went home. This experience truly ruined our night. There was no incentive to make things right on their behalf and having to wait close to an hour to be seated, lukewarm steaks and undercooked potatoes, rude hostess and slow service, you’d think they’d offer something, but no they didn’t. We spent over $200 here and left very dissatisfied. I will not be coming here to this establishment again and anyone who mentions the word Morton’s, will know about my this awful experience we’ve had here. This was supposed to be a romantic night out for us before our baby gets here and it was ruined and we’re...

Only reason for 3 stars in service and atmosphere is due to the following. Service: When seated a server greeted us and then after waiting an unusual amount of time, considering restaurant was not busy, He returned and stated “there was a mixup and Elen would be serving us” but if we needed anything he’d be around. Which he never was, and passed us by while we needed service, and Elen appeared to be overly busy. Elen attempted to be timely but even after we requested condiments…”forgot” and we opted to ask a 3rd server for help. Server Elen was gracious, friendly and honestly seemed to be doing her best. After steak issue, described next, She did admit steak didn’t look “normal” but still brought it to table… so this is the reason for 3 and not 5 on service. As a server, she should not of served something cold and that did not have the appearance of a Morton’s quality dish.

Atmosphere- 3 stars as restaurant looks nice but recognizably not maintained to Morton standards. Bit “run down”, dirty carpet and hostess at entry stated “hope you have a reservation “ as soon as we walked in. Which we did, but just seemed like an unwelcoming way or standard of greeting.

Food- poor quality Ocean platter is subpar to say the least Oysters poor quality, gritty and grainy. Crab is dry Lobster tails over cooked /steamed, leaving them dry Condiments did not come as expected with such a dish…& waiting after requesting took so long we tried to enjoy without but was even more of a disappointment even considering the poor quality.

Table side ribeye for 4 in our family was ordered medium rare Arrived cold, dry ( literally no natural juices released) and favorless. We believe it wasn’t seasoned at all. Tough to chew, poor quality.

Attempted to eat cold flavorless steak while enjoying the sides. hoping they would help the steak but to no avail. Reluctantly advised Elen… at which point she states that she will speak with Manager Jeff. Item was removed from our check. However, as expected from a Manager, he did not come over to learn how to correct the situation to prevent from happening in the future and retain us or persuade us to return. Very disappointing and therefore the review. Our family will not be returning to...
