We’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile now, and I’m glad we decided to finally try it. Entering from Lankershim Blvd, it was a nice, open walkway, and some very clear instructions on how to order (take a menu and order at the bar). The menu was designed well, with very clear borders between sections, and the items were very appealing. We went to the bar to order, and we were quickly assisted by one of their friendly staff. We then took our seat, a wooden picnic table, on gravelly ground. It was 96 degree weather, and they conveniently turned on misters to cool down the seating area. We were quickly served our first round of food, the steak salad and the farmers plate (3 item combo - we chose the broccoli, Brussel sprouts, and watermelon+cucumber salad). The steak salad was really good, and so was the farmers plate. The pizza we ordered (Epic BBQ chicken pizza) took some time to come out, but their refillable drinks were enough to keep us satisfied until it came out, when we were later told that they were training someone in the pizza kitchen, which is all fine, to which they compensated with a FREE DESSERT, which wasn’t necessary, but was definitely appreciated. After eating the pizza, which was incredible, besides a slightly burnt crust, we waited for a short while, and then they brought us an INSANE looking dessert (we chose the smothered brownie, brownie with ice cream), and apologized for the wait. Honestly, if there was a 6 star option, I would go for it. If anyone who works for pitfire is reading this, thank you!

Cool vibe with great food. The pizza was excellent, I recommend the Green Goddess. Decent prices and they offer pitchers of sangria so you don't have to order a bunch if glasses for the table. It's not a sit down restaurant, more like a nicer fast food place. You order at the counter and get your own drinks. Then someone brings your food to you. The food wasn't fast either almost an hour for the pizza to come out, and it wasn't even crowded. It's family friendly that's for sure. Kids were running all around and knocking into other people's tables with no concerns from the parents or staff. But that was just my experience and don't hold that against this place, although staff should have said something to the parents about the kids jumping off the flower bed walls. Strangest thing was needing a code to use the bathroom. There was no real interaction with staff so can't say much about them. All in all the food is fantastic, maybe just take it to go.

Pitfire Pizza is known for its hand-stretched, wood-fired pizzas that come out perfectly crisp and flavorful. I visited the North Hollywood location, which is set on a spacious property featuring a lively beer garden, indoor dining, and a full bar. The atmosphere felt playful and welcoming, but since I went at lunchtime, it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful, making the outdoor patio seating especially enjoyable. The pizza was freshly baked and absolutely delicious, and I appreciated that the menu also offered vegan-friendly options along with a nice variety of salads and pastas. It’s a casual spot without traditional table service you order at the counter and help yourself to what you need which adds to its relaxed, laid-back vibe. Overall, it felt like a great balance between quality food and a comfortable, community-oriented setting.

We visited this restaurant Sunday 15th 8.30pm, I have never experienced such bad service as we did from our young brown haired ‘waitress’. We had a table of 5 and we visited for a celebratory dinner. It all started going down hill from the moment she bought our food over, she was carrying two trays and seemed to be slightly struggling, another server offered to take the other try for her and she rudely stated “I’ve got it”, 2 seconds later that was followed by her hitting one of us on the head with the tray, she did not apologize and she did not seem to care at all. The person she hit on the head said “I guess you don’t have it then” and the waitress said nothing, just rolled her eyes. So all but one of our pizzas were delivered, as most people’s pizza already seemed pretty cold they began to eat while we waited for the final pizza to be delivered, 10/15 minutes later it arrived, again with no apology for the lateness. My vegan pizza was topped with arugula, which seemed to be covering the fact that most of my pizza did not have any vegan cheese on it. I saw the final vegan pizza come out I saw that their cheese was actually melted and covering the pizza, I saw what mine should look like. So I approached our waitress to let her know I wanted my margarita to actually have cheese on, she immediately went on the defensive saying the cheese comes in balls, I did not appreciate her defensive and patronizing tone as if I didn’t understand how mozzarella works so I continued to point at my pizza that had numerous slices with zero cheese on. She then asked “so what do you want” I said a new pizza, baring in mind there’s still been no apology or any sense of caring. This waitress continued to strop around the restaurant, it was clear several other tables had also experienced bad service from her as others continued to watch and whisper at the group of servers standing around. We approached a friendly waiter who was very sweet and caring and explained our situation, he was very apologetic. He let us know that their manager was standing just a few feet away if we wanted to talk to her, but we asked that he shared our experience with her as we didn’t want to waste any more time we had together complaining. He spoke with her and then came back with two cookies and we never heard anything from the manager. Later in the evening we saw the manager walking around to other tables asking people how they’re doing etc, she looked in our direction and then continued to walk by. Other than the one male server, the service we experienced at this place was shockingly disgusting, it was even more disturbing knowing that the manager was there and witnessed this terrible treatment we received and continued to let the waitress walk around with so much attitude, and do nothing. I will not be eating here again, I will discourage people from eating here. I do not wish for someone to have a special meal ruined by some extremely rude and...

Two stars because the people are all very kind. We've been going to this restaurant for years before the remodel happened. We finally got a chance to eat there again today because we were nearby. I was very disappointed that the food quality seems to have declined after the restaurant reopened. This isn't to say that the freshness and the quality of the ingredients declined, the execution of making them into dishes declined. I would entertain that the cooks lack a sense of volume when putting ingredients in things. I ordered the Burrata pizza. I generally love Burrata. The issue however is that there was so much Burrata that it completely inundated and nullified every other flavor on the pizza. Kind of amazing because Burrata is enjoyed for its mild flavor. I am not one for exaggeration, So I can safely tell you that you could have comfortably complemented 3-4 other pizzas with the amount of Burrata and salt that was on there. I'm not necessarily sure if the salt was coming from the pesto, the dressing on the arugula, or was just thrown on top of the pizza, but it was not pleasant. Had to scrape most of it off. Very sad about the waste. If you like huge amounts of Burrata on singular dishes, and sodium isn't something you're concerned about. this may be for you. A lot of the existing photo's of the restaurant don't accurately depict the restaurant anymore because of the remodel. But when the restaurant looked like that, that was when the quality was consistent every time we went. I'll probably go back another time and try something else. They have a bunch of other pizzas that also sounded really enjoyable. I will revise my review once I go back and try again. All the same, I'm glad the restaurant didn't shut it's doors completely. It adds some very refreshing ambiance to the area. Complements all of the other development that is going on there. They have a really nice outdoor bar with some nice beers on tap. I'll certainly come back for...

I've got to say. This last visit was a letdown. I was gonna let a lot slide, but man, I'm just disappointed.

First- the worst offense- my kid's food was forgotten. It didn't just come last, it was forgotten. It was ordered, it was repeated to me by the order taker, it was paid for, and it didn't make it to the table- not without asking for it specifically after all our other food had come. I asked about it as our last pizza arrived, and it came about 8 minutes later. No one offered an apology or acknowledged the mistake.

Second, the interior of the restaurant is a mess. There were no plates or water cups inside. But there were plenty of boxes. Two entire booths, full of fines and unfolded boxes. It almost felt like we were dining in the back room. Forks are bent, and plates and knives are dirty.

Which brings me to my third point, which is one that has bugged me since the beginning of this new style and redesign Pitfyre brought about. Silverware, napkins, water, plates, condiments, refills, and to-go boxes are all on the paying customer. There is, quite literally, the least amount of service you could possibly get at an establishment that serves food and beverage. Then finding clean plates and sets of silver- straight unbent silverware at that- is it's own fun little chore.

Finally... As my wife and her mother were finishing their meals, and I was entertaining the young one out by the namesake pit fire, a friend of the manager(?) who had been seated at the bar, and who was at this point near the fire, started smoking weed right next to me and my son! If it were just me, I really wouldn't care. But my 4yr old, I mean c'mon. She didn't NOT see us. I just... That bugs me. A lot. Not the restaurant's fault, I understand.

Not a great experience tonight. Most experiences here are unmemorable at the...
