Go to the Woodland Hills location often and lately the experiences have been bazaar. One day I go in, get my order, when I get to the register- the girl turns on music as loud as it could possibly go. Note the speaker was right at the register and it blew me out. I asked her if she could turn the music down.. she said no. I just told her it is too loud in my ear. She reached over and turned it down. At that moment I figured they didn’t want my business or as a customer I wasn’t valued. Giving them the benefit of the doubt- I go back a couple weeks later, I walk in and the music again was blaring. Now I am a music lover, but loud is loud. I couldn’t hear myself think. Again, I asked that they turn the music down. This time, the did. However, the girl taking the order was very rushed so much so she knocked over the bin that had the crunchy toppings. There were no other customers there at that moment. Weirdness’s personified. So again, I give them the benefit of the doubt- go back today- walked in and one employee starts screaming and jumping around shaking her hands. Another employee goes to see what is happening- and the girl starts pointing at something on the floor. A little too close to the food. The guy goes over, looks at what she is pointing at, grabs a paper towel and picks up the bug. I asked what was it. He said it was a grasshopper. That’s what he says. I thought her reaction was over the top. Especially in a restaurant in the presence of a customer. No one else was in the place. When I was leaving, they began laughing hysterically like what happened was funny. Bugs close to the food I am buying to consume is NO LAUGHING MATTER. When I began patronizing this business, it was all good. Now, it gets more bizarre each time I go. Not really looking for drama every time a patronize a business. Maybe they need to act like their customers are a priority and show some professionalism in the work- that will go a long way. As for the food..we’ll, it is ok. The fish is not quite sushi grade but it works, cheaper than my go to sushi spot. I think I will leave this place for others. With bugs that close to the food, I kept wondering about the bug while eating my order. If I want my music that loud, I will go to a party. The employees here can have at it. They don’t need my...
Read moreI frequent poke bar often and used to go to the encino location often. Then one opened in Woodland Hills and I became a regular. I go there twice a week. Order the same thing. It’s my daily meal. I went there a week ago ordered my two bowls and came home as usual. The three of us who ate the spicy tuna all got sick. It was the first and only meal we had that day. Because it was brunch time. We got sick and I called to let them know. They took my name down and said they will tell the manager and he will call. Never heard anything. Went back today the manager was there and looked confused. I showed him the phone record and had receipt etc. he asked if we wanted a refund or replacement. I said it didn’t matter. Preferably a refund or credit for tomorrow since I had plans today. He then kept going back and forward and talking to the person who always takes the order because the manager is rarely ever there then 20 minutes later the manager answered and said he “could not apologise and could not accept that his fish made us sick” and we need a doctor’s note. What am I in middle school? I need to go a WEEK later to get a note that says I had food poisoning. The reason I passed by was because I never got a call about what to do or even an apology. This was very laughable in my opinion but he lost my business for his poor customer service, and I will no longer recommend that location to...
Read moreI love Poke Bar as their food is always fresh and healthy. They serve a lot of protein variations like Salmon, Tuna, Albacore, Octopus, Shrimp, Scallops, Tofu, and Spicy Tuna. They have lots of vegetable mix variations too. I love their sauce, especially house dressing, sesame oil, sweet chili, and ponzu. You also get to pick sides like imitation crab, seaweed salad, and cucumber salad. I like to add imitation crab and some cucumber salad. The icing on the cake is the final touch of adding the dry topping, I prefer the crispy onion and garlic with some sesame seeds.
I have always received great customer service from the staff (eaten here at least 20 times). I believe they have fair prices, especially when my bowl is always filled to the top with Poke goodness!
If you’re looking for a good Poke restaurant, then I recommend the Poke Bar in...
